Thank you! We do get pests since we grow outdoors, but we manage them with natural, food-safe controls. In our climate, the main issues are aphids, spider mites, flea beetles, and cabbage worms, and we keep them in check using agricultural soap, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), and neem oil. Those three cover virtually all the insects in our area, and because the plants grow quickly and stay off the soil, this drastically reduces the amount of pests.

That is a great idea! We actually use a similar concept with reflective CDs and windmills that create unpredictable light flashes and constant movement, which works really well at keeping birds away.

It looks like a nice square area with fencing on the sides. Why not just run a net across the top?
We prefer to maximize sunlight and airflow in the farm, and nets would reduce both. We do use a wind net when the forecast exceeds 70 km/h, which is the purpose of the cage.
