Here in Florida we have cabbage palms that produce a watery high moisture honey that frements very quickly.
And we have the scrub palm that doesn’t look like much but produces a rich, thick buttery flavored honey that is hard to find these days because of all the development that has cleared it from the landscape.
You could try to follow the bees back to the hive or box.
Most supers have the beekeeper’s name branded on the side.
You could ask for a sample, just out of curiosity. They might give you a sample right out of the frame.
If that is the cabbage palm honey it might start to ferment while it is still in the comb and have a yellowish color.
Either way, always a taste adventure, cheers.
