  • @Ben-Le-Page says:

Is it possible to make some floating hydroponic gardens on the dam?

    • @warrior9086 says:

In genral this is a good idea. The shade will lower water temperature and less sun light is less algea. It will also promote natural bacteria cycle that improve water quality.

  • @megaflux7144 says:

think i would have just put a ton of air stones at the bottom and connected a pump to a solar panel.

  • @UncannySense says:

If you want to aerate a dam or large volume of water you’re far better off using an air lift pump. Which is easy enough to make out of PVC pipe

  • @benfarmer94 says:

I liked and hyped this video at 0:22 mark after the comment “ready to grow”. Don’t even feel like I need to watch the remainder, my content satisfaction has been achieved 110%, really only playing it out for the education and algorithm enrichment 😂😂

Also love the flashback of hoocho with hair 😉

  • @DaisylynnKind01 says:

I’m having trouble watching your video because you keep cutting out. Can you fix it so I can watch it? It’s a really interesting subject. Thanks

  • @kevinkc3onohelijeepworld says:

If you want to add O2 look or ask Vevor to send you one of their pond aeration compressors and add a big weighted air stone maybe run one 3/8s line to both ponds 😊

  • @CountryMusicSavedMe says:

Fun fact, thermoclines exist on a larger scale in the ocean, when I was in the submarine service, we would dive below the thermocline layer so that ship sonars would deflect off the temperature layer…wait, watching a Hoocho video is giving me PTSD.😂

  • @ozzypunk1 says:

An airlift pump would be better mate. Will never need to clean a filter.

  • @cutsomewoodbashsomemetalmakeso says:

    As always brilliant.

On the bore, we put 1 in 170m deep, pump at 163m, total head at 199m. Anyways full grundfoss solar setup, not cheap but does what we want and i wasnt going to run power that far away.
Youve the right attitude toward water security on any land..
    Keep it up!!!

  • @rw-xf4cb says:

Turbidity is due to lack of salt and negatively charged particles of clay staying suspended. Add some calcium (cal nitrate or lime (hydrated will dissolve better than AG Lime) or alum (though this makes it acidic so needs lime)) will clump the clay particles and cause them to drop. You also should also have some hay bales to stop the clay coming in from run off. Also probably some solar pump floating fountains would do the job – though never tried! Water will turn over if the depth is right but getting the clay to settle out will help a lot!

  • @rw-xf4cb says:

Only issue with bottles is temp they will contract in cold and expand when hot and eventually will crack as I have them in ponds for floating habitat for redclaw crayfish.

  • @rw-xf4cb says:

I use air lifts on ponds – just like aquarium but 90mm pipe goes down a meter and then a side channel blower pushes air down 300mm causing to bubbles to push water from within the airlift up to get aeration. Though for big fish farms they use paddlewheels as more efficient oxygenation than airlifts but burn more power and expensive a single 1kw blower does many ponds.

  • @JOATMOFA says:

    Nice idea!
Now add Lithium batteries & a mini solar panel and your invention is cordless and uses renewable energy!

  • @m0eser says:

Might get better oxygenation by using a venturi attachment

  • @derekgore1268 says:

By keeping the surface temperature down, you will also reduce the rate of water evaporation. To clear the dams cloudiness, add polysheen for pools 🙂 Works a treat.

  • @TheToasterChicken says:

The bottles could also be slightly angled down if you’re concerned about keeping the bottle threads above water.
