I Had NO IDEA This Was Hiding Under My Garden!
This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Homegrown Passion”.
I had NO IDEA how many potatoes were hiding under this little raised bed! 🥔 What started as a simple fall garden check turned into one of my favorite harvest surprises of the season.
Today I'm taking you around the farm for five late-season jobs and a few surprises along the way. We're processing our homegrown loofahs, topping our indeterminate tomato plants to help finish the fruit already growing, digging up a HUGE potato harvest, picking beautiful Albion strawberries in October, and doing a little end-of-season “autopsy” on our cucumber plants before cleaning out the greenhouse.
The potato harvest might be my favorite part. I planted two varieties in this raised bed and honestly didn't know what we'd find until we started digging. By the time we finished, I could barely lift the crates!
I'll also show you a simple way to check whether potatoes are developing good skin for storage, why I top my indeterminate tomatoes late in the season, how I decide which Albion strawberries are ready to pick, and what old cucumber plants can teach us about pests and problems to watch for next year.

Katy, great video again! I like option A for the next video. I missed yesterday’s market as I had to travel for work. Do you guys have a storefront or website? I really want to buy some of your produce. Great Star Trek reference too! 🖖
Thank you so much for the kind words and the suggestion for the next video! It means a lot to know you’re enjoying the content and even want to buy our produce. We really appreciate your support! One more market next week so you have another chance. After that maybe we can arrange a pickup in town. ❤️
Very interesting stuff. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching and for your kind comment! Really appreciate you sharing that.
The thirsty boomers in the comments on every video is ridiculous.
Haha, gotta love the internet, right? Maybe they’re just really excited about what’s hiding under the garden… or maybe they just need a glass of water. 😉

Katy, your greenhouse is phenomenal. And you grow some of the prettiest tomatoes I’ve ever seen. Thanks for sharing it all, along with your knowledge and passion, with us. I’ve sub’d to your channel because of all of the above. You’re intriguing for many reasons. Keep up the great work.
Oh, option A. Only because option double D wasn’t listed.
Wow, thank you so much for such a thoughtful and kind comment! Knowing you subbed because of my passion and knowledge truly makes my day.
@HomegrownPassionI had to edit my reply, just now, because I forgot to answer your question.
Wie schön Du bist ❤
