what are those shallow frames for. not a bee keeper.
@@sbarronmd shallow frames are for the “super”, which is the top, section of the bee colony that is excluded from the Queen laying brood, and excess honey is deposited. There’s a lot more to it, but it is the part (25%) that you ‘rob’ or take their honey so you can leave them with resources to reproduce and flourish.
It’s their excess produce that you can benefit from for your managing of the colony… essentially
