STOP Growing Microgreens in Plastic! Use Glass Containers!

This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Keep on Growin’ with Mike VanDuzee”.

Full tutorial of how I grow microgreens in shallow glass containers. I use a nutrient solution so I can grow them out to baby greens and maximize my yields. Many more experiments with microgreens coming as we attempt to reduce our plastic usage and incorporate more renewable options.

Where can I get clay pebbles? Thanks

  • @danielt6689 says:

How was the Masterblend 20-20-20? If I remember correctly, you tried it at one time.

    • @MK-cw4gw says:

I had the same question. I have been using it based off of his recommendation but it looks like he has moved away from it. I don’t remember him explaining the change unless I missed a step in a video somewhere.

    • @KeepOnGrowin says:

worked for me but I do mostly leafy greens. Other people were having trouble with it and reducing the ratio. I don’t get into messing with all of that and just suggest the original formula so everyone does not get confused.

    • @danielt6689 says:

@@KeepOnGrowin Thanks, good to know. Long time traditional in-ground gardener, I started hydroponics and bought the 20-20-20 specifically based on your videos.

    • @MK-cw4gw says:

@@KeepOnGrowin Thank you Mike! I was one of those that had some initial issues. After some tweaking, I think I got it right. My issue seemed to be proper dilution of the powder. Once I let it fully dissolve in the water and increased the water ratio slightly, to about 75% strength, I got the best results. (for me) Awesome new idea using the clay pellets!! Can’t wait to dig into this one! Have a great day and thanks again for all you do! Mike – Northern NY

    Love this!!👍🙄💖

  • @Lunasgarden2021 says:

Love this video, you explained it so well

  • @sonet66 says:

One of the best uploads I’ve seen in ages 🙏👍👍I have those pebbles but never thought of using them with micro greens 😁

  • @jujube2407 says:

    Great job Mike!

  • @joimckinney9687 says:

I would love it if you would share the discount store name you found the glass bowls! Thank you in advance

    • @KeepOnGrowin says:

I don’t know. They just bring things in and dump them in bins. Starts at $10 one day and drops to $1 by Wed.

  • @whitebird-wy5jg says:

Great video, Mike! Really loved this one!! Thank you.🕊

  • @NopeAndYep says:

Can you grow with regular pebbles? Pea gravel would be heavy, but could work? Maybe?

  • @BethWSmith says:

So glad to see this! Can’t wait for more details.

  • @cutiebm says:

Been super excited to see this.

  • @trishgraham7639 says:

    Thank you Mike!

  • @andresvaldes2491 says:

Do you wash and dry the seeds before putting them in?

  • @ronm6585 says:

    Great info Mike, thank you.

  • @fiddlebender88 says:

Another great video. I really like how you don’t get too technical. Low maintenance, and if it works it works. No stress.

  • @azlady8102 says:

Wonder if this will work in mason jars?

  • @karenhuedepohl1705 says:

Great idea!! I’m amazed every video I watch! This is definitely going to be tried. Perfect for an apartment!
    Thank you👍

  • @harrymyhero says:

How many cups size are those containers? Looks like 2 or 3 cups? It’s such a bummer when you have a great local source that can’t be duplicated everywhere else, so give us the measurements at least, so we can approximate the same thing. Thank you. Your idea is sound

  • @harrymyhero says:

What kind of seed did you sprinkle?

  • @crazyredheadart713 says:

But Mike..the short plastic containers I’ve been waiting for the perfect use for are dying to participate…
