Planting Hydroponic Seedlings into NFT Channels
This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Homegrown Passion”.Β
Today was planting day at the hydroponic greenhouse. I got a bunch of mustard green seedlings into the NFT channels, and I shared a few more of Mom's helpful tips. There is a clip of the new calf at the end and a PUPPY UPDATE! Thanks for watching!

I love seeing all this bright vibrant colors, especially as fall sweeps by!
Thank you. The greenhouse helps keep my mood up as the days get shorter. Have a great weekend!
@Homegrown Passion Just FYI I featured you in my most recent video! Hope you like it
Damn, puppies so cute!ππ
They’ve grown big.πΎ
I see now growing veggies in hydroponics isn’t messy at all. And with mom’s vast experience success to a good harvest is assured!πΎπΏπ±
Yes the puppies got big so fast it seems. Mom does a good job and really cares. ππ₯¬
Surprise calf & puppy update, love it ! ahah.
What was this purple salad that you spaced at some point? Looked delicious !
Thank you! That was red tatsoi. It is one of mom’s favorite Asian greens to grow because it grows fast and is easy to harvest. π₯¬
Cute calf and puppies and the greenhouse is huge ..do you use the same plant food for all your plants devon ? And do you use rain water ? Your son is such a handsome young man take.care devon best wishes as always paul x
Hey Paul! Hope you’ve been having a nice weekend. We do use the same nutrients for the whole greenhouse, except when we get the Bato buckets going. We have a separate tank and pump and use a tomato nutrient solution. We just use tap water. I hope things are getting better over there. I’m waiting to see what happens here with the new leadership. π
@Homegrown Passion even I have been watching the election and at least its all over now and things will settle down hopfully ..take care devon.and stay safe .were all in lockdown but its not so bad and it does seem to work.speak to you soon paul x
Crazy how neat and tidy those lil guys are! π
Yep it still amazes me how they grow without dirt. I love it though because I don’t have to worry about biting on a piece of sand anymore π
Hi! During my free time love to watch your videos its really inspired, and also it seems tons of request for your new videos are waiting, and I’m one of themπ€£ so wish you good health and keep sharing. God bless thank you.
Thank you so much! I’m looking forward to making new videos and helping people grow their own food. God bless and have a nice week!
I prefer traditional seasonal produce production then doing without in the off season & terrier mix puppies. Herefords are right up there as my favorite beef breed. This is as close as I have been to the poly tunnel greenhouse err whatever so need to learn more and appreciate YA !!
Yes I see your point. I do look forward to seasonal fruit every year. Can’t wait for the fresh oranges soon. Herefords are the best! π And I can’t argue about terrier mix pups. My neighbor has one and it’s so cute. π
Enjoyed the teaching and practical part the most. You have a very pleasant and personal touch.
I am guessing those are CropKing troughs. They now have lids with holes placed much closer together. It is a bit more trouble to plant nursery plants into a close-holed trough to allow babies to grow up halfway, and then transplant them again into current spacing to give adequate room to grow. But it is a very cheap way to expand greenhouse production capacity. I think the regular hole spacing gives 14 holes while the close hole give 36 or so per trough.
Thank you! Yep they are from Cropking. That is very interesting and makes sense to allow more production. These ones have 16 or so holes on one side and 12 on the other. I need to double check for sure. I think Mom would try that if we had more help, but it’s fun with just us and Dad for now.
I love the way of your presentation!
Basically I am Manju from India, you’re videos has helped me a lot and I totally admire your interest on organic farming. By Jan or Feb,even I am going to start my own Hydroponics in country side
Manju HM Thank you, Manju! Please keep in touch and let me know how it goes for you. I am planning to make videos this winter on the operating systems of the greenhouse. Good luck with everything!
@Homegrown Passion Thank you Devon! It means a lot.
Binge watching this morning! We recently got 6 inches of snow. Little outdoor work getting done.
Great video!
Oh man that sounds fun! I do prefer the warm weather, but we’ve only gotten to enough snow to play in once so far this year. Might get some next week here. Thank you! π
You doing a good job keep it up it’s nice to have somebody who knows what they’re doing
Thank you! It is a very nice place to work.
Beautiful puppies and chickens
Thank you!
Devon, its so enjoyable to watch your videos over and over. Do you grow any strawberries maybe, and is there any videos about it? My family is growing strawberies for last 3uears,and I’m interesting in hydroponic way of growing it π
Thank you so much! We have grown strawberries in the NFT channels and in buckets. We are currently finishing the rack system to hang the strawberry buckets and Iβm going to do a video in that soon. They grow really well in perlite.
So awesome to see how it all works! Thank you for sharing.
We have ordered our first NFT system from Crop King for our Polytunnel greenhouse. We told them that we are avid watchers of Home Grown Passion and decided that the NFT system was perfect for our Hydroponic greenhouse. Devon and her mom are so enjoyable to watch and learn from. As we are a much smaller grower, we ordered the starter 4-6 system. Thanks to Devon and her lovely mom for all the pointers and instructions. We’ll keep you updated as we go. Blessings.
Hi, this was fun to watch. Thank you for sharing your time.
I just started hydroponics two weeks ago. My lettuce plants are very delicate. About two inches tall. When do I remove them from the oasis and just use the net pots?
Blessings
We never remove them…just put them in the channels or pots and you are good to go!!
This was so much fun to watch….Amazing
Thank you, Bob,!
Love your videos. I just started my own lettuce in a 49 pod system and loving it. Prior to harvest do you switch from a nutrient flow to just water so the nutrients are flushed out of the lettuce? Wondering if its a concern or not.
No do not do that. The nutrients do not affect flavor. The plant only takes up what it needs to grow and survive. If you turn to regular, it could kill the root system which would be represented by brown roots vs white healthy roots.
Hi You are doing a great job explaining and give important tips for beginners.
Thank you so much π
Thank you for posting your video, watched it a couple of times and it gave me some ideas on how to start my Kratky system off from scratch growing watercress..
Glad I could help!
