I’d really like to see a system that will help me root strawberry runners in soilless media, as I’m trying to use your tower system (with clay balls) for my Strawberries, in the UK. Also, I’d love to have some supports for your tower system, as the initial growth on this years strawberrys the fruiting stems was damaged due to the weight of fruit.

Still a great video, despite the sniffles. Its almost like edutainment, learning from your large outside labratory, as most people just dont have time to build out system that might not work.

Looking good! Just would like to add that no matter what you do to those wooden planks, even massive through-bolt enforcements, there will be problems and I would threat it as a design failure. You are right about the reason: when one side keeps dry and one side gets moisture, they will bend because the moisture expands the wood fibers. And no amount of steel will help that, it just changes the failure type. If the wood has no room to expand because there is some sort of reinforcement or bolts, it will break something or crack in other place etc. The force of that expansion is greater then people realize – it will break stuff, even the wood itself.
Only thing that will keep the wood stable, is keeping the moisture roughly equal, so the shadow side needs ventilation and sun side some kind of protection layer from the sun. Maybe soaking the wood on some oils would help somewhat if not changing the design. It’s a dual effect: it keeps the water out and does not evaporate as easily as water from the dry side. But it needs maintenance then. Cheers!

I’m a Sip cannabis grower. I’d like to comment on The seedling wicking trays, copper liner to stop the roots. Tall Dome for micro climate. And float valve for the water holding bottom piece. 🎉
Wicking will steal the moisture from your neighbor if the water runs out.
I think the not a flood bed and the wicking bed sides have just started cupping as pine tends to do. Even using some threaded rod I think it’ll continue trying to do so.

It’s the middle of winter & the sun is low in the sky. You can see some leggy stem growth on the plants in your greenhouse. Take a look at the leaves/algae growth on your greenhouse roof. No wonder your outside planter systems are doing better than your RGGS in your greenhouse.
Fantastic update video as usual, hope you get back to feeling 100% better soon, keep up the good work, I’m a massive fan of the rain gutter grow system being from the uk I designed my own 65mm downpipe end caps and float valve ends, everything is growing amazingly,
