Hi Hoocho – when will you get around to fixing that timber in the shade house. I keep expecting it to fall on you.

  • @kim.drennon says:

NPT or NHT? If you’re going with standard us outdoor hosepipe, the thread is NHT. NPT is for pressurized pipe like PVC etc

  • @eccm3132 says:

Excellent content; in addition to getting deeper into hydro, Mr. Hoocho has got me into the world of 3D printing too! All kinds of mental gymnastics for us tinkerers.

    Hi hi

  • @urbanfarmacademy says:

I still don’t know how to join your patreon from Nigeria

  • @xuando1710 says:

I literally just started experimenting with different methods for hydroponic garlic too. I’m looking forward to your results. Thanks for the videos Hoocho.

  • @tonymckessar5734 says:

10:44 one week later. How much does your ambient temperature assist in germination? Could you do a comparrison of inside/under lights V this system

  • @Bobby11 says:

Theres nothing stopping you putting a cap on every second spot on those and use it as a normal level when you arent using them to germinate seeds.

  • @user-xe2ek1td1x says:

What if you used a fence post like the zip grow guy does, but turn it onto its side. Instead of aquarium filter material for the grow media like he does, you could 3d print a frame to hold the garlic, a lot like you’re doing in the round pot, but you could also design it to be rectangular so that it fits in the channel. Good luck. I like what you’re doing.

Man shipping is insane at the moment! Was going to buy a few kits off your website, it cost more to ship than the whole kit! Gonna have to travel to warehouse to pick some up one day!

    • @Hoocho says:

Yeah those tower system boxes are massive.
Even so, there’s multiple ship options and the cheapest doesn’t always come up first.
      Just check.
But it’s probably real exy unfortunately.
Definitely worth picking up from the factory if you’re ever near.

    You’re such a Chad!!!! ❤❤❤ 1/2″ NPT 🤘.

Our garden hoses are usually “3/4 GH” it’s some goofy coarse thread, 1/2NPT is used on everything else plumbing related (or it’s easy enough to get a garden hose adapter to 1/2″ NPT)

  • @videogenie1236 says:

Nice system, however, you did not talk about the germination failures.
I don’t know if you have a quick connet version of the float yet.
Garlic cloves: the routes need to be encourage to grow faster than the stem.
Personally, I would split the cloves apart and put them in individual rockwool pods in your latest germination ring. I know in the UK we would plant garlic before the first frost. This allows the root system to develop well over the winter months.
Reducing the high temperature can be done by placing a large volume of water on the wall furtherest away from the sun. South wall for your region. Also an evapuartion wall, hang some material from the roof into the large water container. This will increase the humidity in your green house. Finally. a solar powered fan to circulate the air to help the evaporation and give movement to your plants.

  • @matheww9944 says:

Cheers for the high-density tower section, perfect for seed starting without a propagation area.

  • @abzz132u says:

Bigelow Farms YouTube I believe grew onions and maybe garlic hydro style on float rafts. RobBob also believe has discussed some methods at one point. Maybe some other places too. Biggest issue is of course as you said wet roots but dry bulbs. I personally believe the best method would be a combo “dual root zone setup”. Like maybe a sand be hydro(definitely robbob territory) or other setups like that. Or and rock filled ebb and flow system

  • @TheHydroProject says:

Love the approach! Another awesome upgrade to the line up! Great video! Love seeing your green house successes! The garlic would be super cool to see in nft! I am too impatient to grow garlic.

  • @kerrynbell5135 says:

Put the garlic once roots have formed into a larger net cup ( needs to be the size to permit bulb maturity -approx 60mm wide ) and then into the nft or into one of your hooch buckets or 3ird option , plant out the same as you did the ginger / turmeric on grow spikes ….. there is 3 ideas but make sure it has roots first .
Can you give us a yes or no answer on the hooch 8 l buckets , are you gojng to sell them on the website or not ?

  • @Alex_Enso says:

How big must my 3D-printer be, to print this Pods?

  • @quacka6 says:

Is it a good idea to germinate with nutrients and rockwool? I thought it is better to germinate with water only?

  • @MrGooglevideoviewer says:

bro… your pucks!! use your puck in an NFT to hold the shoot coming out ABOVE the bulb… put it so the roots just touch the bottom and the bulb will have plenty of room in the dark to expand… it means it would sort of be hanging down at the start — maybe the moisture would be too much and it would rot, but once the roots are long… I reckon I could roll a piece of that foam you make pucks out of, I reckon I could roll a piece into a conical shape and then hold it upside down (so it looks like a V side on) and then snip off the bottom… that would support the garlic bulb, keep it dry and let the roots go down, keep light off the NFT channel… whaddyareckon?
