Your Strawberries Are Doomed Without This!

This Video is from the Youtube channel:Homegrown Passion”.

Strawberries can grow fast, but if you miss a few key steps early in the season, your crop can struggle before it ever has a chance to produce big, beautiful berries.

In this video, I’m showing what we’re doing right now in our hydroponic strawberry BATO bucket system to set these plants up for a stronger harvest later. We’ll go over consistent nutrient delivery, Dosatron dosing, pH and EC monitoring, timed irrigation, flower pinching, and why I top my strawberry buckets with a dry perlite and vermiculite layer.

One of the biggest mistakes growers make is letting strawberry plants fruit too early. Right now, we don’t want the plants wasting energy on flowers and tiny berries. We want strong roots, healthy leaves, and better plant structure first. That’s why we pinch off early flowers until the plants have strong true leaves.

I’ll also show how we mix nutrients, why consistency matters so much in hydroponics, and how keeping the top layer of the BATO buckets dry helps reduce fungus gnats and other greenhouse pest problems.

Then we head out to the high tunnel where I’m hardening off flowers, hanging baskets, melons, and spring plants before our Ohio last frost window. It’s a busy spring day on the farm, and everything is starting to come alive.

If you’re growing hydroponic strawberries, greenhouse strawberries, or using BATO buckets, this video will show you the early steps that can make or break your crop.
