New Wicking Beds & Fixing Water Lines + Resident Python
This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Rob Bob’s Aquaponics & Backyard Farm”.ย
G'Day Folks. Had a few issues with things needing fixing over the past few weeks. The dodgy water lines from the water tanks & Guinea fowl feeder were the first on the list. I also decided to modify the wicking beds as well by replacing the geotextile with some shade cloth.
Also caught up with the chooks pet Python while we were at it. ๐
Cheers all.

Iโd cut a door in the tank, kit it out for your gardening tools and irrigation systems. Some irrigation hose around the wall and the same about 500mm out but with legs and you can make a great bench as long as you want. Same with shelving ๐บ๐บ
hi rob just wanted you to know you are a big inspiration i been watching you for almost 5 yrs and i built a aquaponics system like yours now have my own channel thank you man
The tank could make a big wicking bed.
nice
Make the tank into a few raised garden beds
Good to see the gardening infrastructure coming together
It is great to see the garden come along. And the pet python is really cool, we don’t have snakes like that here in Norway (or rather, the snakes we have are smaller and hide more in the garden). I think there is a lot of things the watertank could become but the question is what you need. Do you have sheds you need for example. The only thing I could think of is if you need a little storage space somewhere else on the property, since it looks like it would be easier to move than some of the other sheds
If you can move the tanks, they can be used as indoor space for kune kune pigs, or even sheep. Cut a door in, add hay to the floor and it’s done.
You could cut it into rounds and make a few raised planters, might be bit big to reach middle
I feel like thereโs probably aquaponics applications with the dud tank or maybe cut up into components for planters.
If youโd open the top off and set the height where you want, slightly dig in to ground and run some pond liner you can raise a lot of fish :p
The chilli looks a lot like a Tabasco chilli. If you cut open the chilli and its full of juice its definitely a tabasco.
When we had the ginormous tanks with bad splits at the bottom I cut a door into it and used it as a shed for storing the many, many buildings that I have made as modekls for my model railroad…mostly out of card and, with a decent tarp and roof over the thing it lasted us 18 years befor my son, learning how to drive, remodelled the side of it with a Mazda 1600.
