Growing African marigolds from seed to harvest!

This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Agrotonomy”.

We grow African marigolds on our farm because they're one of the most beneficial flowers we can plant. Not only do they attract pollinators and beneficial insects, but we've also consistently noticed fewer aphids throughout our farm whenever the marigolds are in bloom.

Once the flowers reach maturity, we harvest every bloom. African marigold flowers are commonly used for extracting lutein, a natural yellow pigment, as well as for producing natural dyes. The best part is that by harvesting the blooms and deadheading the plants, we encourage another flush of flowers. Within just a few weeks, the towers are covered in blooms again, often producing just as many flowers as the first harvest.
