Is the material you are using on your green house’s roof enough to reduce direct sun exposure for leafy greens like lettuce or do you use additional sun shades on days with very harsh sunlight?

    • @Hoocho says:

Yeah it reduces it some. QLD sun is a bithc tho. Anything helps.

    • @jackyboyau3581 says:

I’d say the corrugation stops the plants from burning, plus I think Hoocho might live Central Queensland or further south where you typically can grow more variety with minor protection from the extreme sun all year. I live in Mackay and barely anything grows for the entirety of Summer, even with 2 layers of white shade-cloth everything seems to die on me but having dark coloured pots directly exposed to the sun is probably the main reason they stunt and fail to grow well during summer. Soil temp or water reservoir temperature is an important factor

@jackyboyau3581he’s somewhere around Brisbane or sunny coast.
I’m at Walkerston. This year I haven’t started anything and probably won’t this season. I’m in the middle of building a retaining wall and chook pen for a pool around mid next month.
By now I’ve normally already seeded my potatoes, have carrots, onions and beetroot started. Some years I grow broccoli. Gave up on cabbage. Hopefully next season I’ll have have a nft system for leafy greens

      @downunderfulla6001small world indeed 😅

Just getting into Hydroponics. Your videos have really helped me.

  • @jackyboyau3581 says:

Do you still brew? watched some of your old videos from 6 years ago last night on how to make beer ad keg it. Seems easy, low space and good money savings just thought I’d ask. Thanks for another video. I love how mow self-sufficiency stuff you do, and you do it so efficiently. Definitely gives me plenty of ideas for the small suburban backyard I’m limited to. Cheers! 🙂
P.S. I come across Egyptian Spinach on YouTube last year, bought some seeds and grew it to try. It’s almost twice as nutrient dense as regular spinach and grows amazingly easy. Also tastes very mild (not bad at all in my opinion) which some other spinach alternatives like Malabar Spinach have not been so favourable to my palate. Should try growing some, great for salads and smoothies.

I see there’s no update on the greenhouse and the damaged section or that’s a feature now?

  • @fliicreates says:

I like the cleanliness look of this greenhouse😅

  • @Jimunu says:

Have hydroland looked into the new trade deal between Australia and the EU?

  • @lochieleslaighter says:

Bro I’m a teacher on the sunny coast. My students from years 9, 10 and 11 are super keen to give kratky setups a go since we’ve seen you developing those new buckets.

  • @TheHydroProject says:

Your plants always look so good! Thanks for the update!!
