pei is one of the cliqueiest, snobbiest, rudest places on earth.

    • @mumbairay says:

The guy that ran around bragging how he is the first and only lgbt primer was maximum annoying

    • @RustyMeadowsHomestead says:

As somebody who just moved here from Ontario, I couldn’t disagree with you more! Sounds like you were in Quebec.

    • @cornelorcremonaprimrose4347 says:

Maritimers are the friendliest, kindest and with big hearts!! Way nicer than other areas I’ve travelled! ❤

    • @RustyMeadowsHomestead says:

@@cornelorcremonaprimrose4347I agree. My neighbour brings me food once a week. Allows me to fill water jugs at his house. Offered to drive me around when my vehicle broke…
      Everyone I’ve met is lovely!

    • @carmenm.9522 says:

They are pretty intent on figuring out if you’re “from here, or away”. If you were born on the island, left there, and then returned, you’re fine. If you can’t claim any island roots, you’re an outsider. They’re nice to your face, but there is definitely a two tiered system. Hire an electrician, plumber, or other trades person, and figure out if you were charged the “from here” price, or the “from away” price.

  • @DimRagga says:

Curtis, have you ever thought about writing a homeschooling curriculum?

3:40 – adding some info…There is also a Ferry Crossing between PEI and NS. Not stuck if the bridge is down…

  • @itaintobeezy says:

Interesting I didn’t know much about pei

  • @wholefoodslifestyles3603 says:

Waiting to hear about Maine 😊

  • @RustyMeadowsHomestead says:

I just bought land on PEI to start a homestead. Currently living in an RV.
There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not astonished by the beauty of this place, and the hospitality of the locals.

Food prices here are all jacked up though! Crazy how expensive it is.

  • @GimmeADream says:

Hey, I’m on 40 acres on PEI. We have forest, the head of a brook, pastures and loads of paddocks for horses. We have a large stable and a log lodge home. Most everything grows in the gardens. Snow isn’t all that bad. Our record was 75 inches in 2015. Last winter, we had so little snow it became a pain. You have pointed out the Bonshaw hills.

  • @michaelboom7704 says:

Lived there for a short time.

  • @JaninesPlace says:

The bridge also costs $60 to cross. You can get on for free but you have to pay to leave the island. And the ferry is ridiculously high priced.

  • @thezenfarmer says:

Another Island resident here. As someone who knew what was coming, i thought the island would be shielded from the global game. Covid sadly proved we arevery vulnerable.

Immigration here is the biggest concern if stuff goes sideways. We’ve got an Asian cult with very deep pockets, and an East Indian population of fighting age males that are of concern.

  • @margaret2222 says:

Love these videos. Thank you so much. I have a couple of friends who live on PEI and they are the sweetest ladies ever. They say everyone there is so nice.

  • @Saskidan says:

North of Charlottetown in Covehead I lived for few years in a log cabin. We had an oil stove that kept us warm. The well drilled was inexpensive. I would swim in Covehead Bay diving for oysters and out on the fishing boats reeling in cod and mackerel. In the winters there was too much snow and it would shut down everything. Summers are muggy and bugs can be bad. We had a garden and the soil was decent. Erosion is high so I wouldn’t build too close to waterfronts. Herbicides, fungicides and pesticides are used heavily in areas and I recall many dead rivers from runoff, children being sent to hospitals from poisoning after spraying, aggressive cancers in younger folk. One garlic farmer near Summerside told me the bee populations are suffering and sprays are to blame.

  • @truth_farmer says:

I moved from Ontario to pei 10 years ago, farming is very tough here, no auctions, small population, supplies are hard to come by, its mosy big scale potatoe farming here and they spray about 15 times a year and use huge amounts of fertilizer is used that destroys the soul health, in hindsight i wish i had of moved to nova scotia or new brunswick, we also have no gravel pits, no hardwood and the wind is hard on gardening.

  • @truth_farmer says:

The altantic provinces are rapidly growing, and pei has gained 30,000 people in the past 6 years alone.

  • @Brooksorganic says:

I love this series. Thank you for doing this. Can you do Maine?? I would enjoy seeing more of these videos.
