Where I’m from, this sporadic weather is just another day. Short winter means more moisture, which means longer grow period lol

  • @SuperKyle309 says:

Ill welcome the warmth. Its been a rough winter in Central Illinois.

    The Urban Farmer…
Amazing book realistic approach to convey difficult things in easy way.
Wanna visit your farm in Kelowna coming summer !!

  • @freegandavehartman8908 says:

Its raining high in the mountains here in western Montana, unheard of this time of year!

  • @mahavira108 says:

    Lots of organic matter too

  • @egodeathplease says:

Good luck on that early spring. You shouldn’t of jinxed it by mentioning it. I’ve see that many times when I lived in Alaska. Might wake up tomorrow with 4ft on the ground. 😂

  • @expandingedge7562 says:

+20C on my deck today here in Berta. Gonna be gnar gnar fire season.

  • @pauliegualtieri7621 says:

“fire season”, aka government arson season. How about a freedom of information request about all the arson?

  • @keithkoehler22 says:

Maybe this is how our weather is to be. Shorter days and lower sun angle brings colder weather and snow. After December 20th the days get longer and the angle increases. The only reason I could ever find for the colder weather being in January and February was “Seasonal Lag”. Maybe you will get more rains through the spring to make up for the early snow loss.

Used to live in the Sierras. Then came the drought for years. My forest died from bark beetles and then the fires came. Thankfully my home did not burn but we had to evacuate.

  • @SuperHossdog says:

NE Oregon, same thing here. And very similar setting, just dryer. Love what you do. Been following you for years. Thanks for all the sharing.

  • @annettecarroll116 says:

I am very concerned about the lack of snow and early melt. My ponds were dryer and lower last yet year because we had little rain and hot, dry days. I have cattle. And crops, and it’s concerning. I am trying hard to figure things òut, i need 2 wells repaired and can’t find anyone out here to help me. It’s worrisome.

We’ve had a mixed summer here on the east coast of the south island of New Zealand… Started quite wet and late, but has been overall hot and pretty dry. Lawns and paddocks are brown, hopefully we get some rain. I suspect winter will come thick and fast though.

  • @rce2553 says:

Ckear out the ladder fuels from under the big trees. If you can keep the fire low, you will have a better fighting chance.

  • @johnnyappleseed.4420 says:

Hey just saying that drive way having two water crossing is actually a good thing. it’s called a choke point or “Kill zone” But two trees work too

  • @-S-K-Miller says:

Similar weather to this, is what I recall from Late winter, summer of 2015,
And, we were fine, in regards to wildfires..

    Cheers Curtis…

I have been in this area for most of fifty years and Niño or no Niño, we have NEVER seen it this dry. It is nice to not have to deal with the hassle of snow but most of us dare not enjoy it. I hear you about resisting the drive into cities. The big cities’ problems are slowly coming to the smaller rural areas too. Nothing compared to the lower East side, but still, increasing crime. Anyway, I am planting leeks.

  • @stephenmitchell4393 says:

the snow was gone and the flowers were out in feb 01 2009 here in GF,

  • @Jo.King_ says:

Hey, got to know your channel through one of Jeff Berwick’s videos 2 years ago.

  • @ForensicHistorian says:

People even from the Tragedy and Hope community are now trying to get Curtis to look at our work and even their comments are being deleted. WOW And Curtis is totally unaware that this is happening. It’s quite extraordinary to say the least.
