Vertical Farming’s FATAL flaw (and the only way to solve it)

This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Foodverge”.

In this brief video, we delve into the critical challenge that plagues vertical farming, one of the most promising innovations in agriculture. While vertical farming promises efficient and sustainable food production, its Achilles' heel lies in the massive energy consumption required to power the high-tech, controlled environments. We explore the environmental and economic implications of this energy dependency, shedding light on a fundamental flaw that demands innovative solutions for the future of food production. Join us as we uncover the hidden cost of going vertical in farming.

For the energy conundrum, I feel that recent innovations and creativity could solve the issues.
Fusion seems to be finally closer than 10 years in the future for once, and fission seems to be seen better these days. Also, coupling a vertical farm with a solar farm, plus a hydroelectric energy storage mechanism, could be viable.

    • Foodverge says:

Yes eventually when we can produce cheap energy at scale the viability will increase. However areas where the ideal conditions for growing exist outside it will be difficult to make vertical farms work. What’s your thoughts on the range of produce they can produce will that increase in your opinion?
