It looks like you can keep them there until you use them, is that correct? The plant will just keep growing?
The plant will keep growing … yes. I usually harvest the outer/bottom leaves first, right from the pod, and the lettuce just keeps growing right there in the pod. I usually get about 2-3 harvest before I need to change it out.
@@SassyGalPrepping great thanks
I really like this video i’m going to be hopefully working on my aerogarden very soon. Do you use a tweezer’s to put your seeds in I’ve heard that It works really good especially for those very small seeds.
I use tweezers sometimes. I was too lazy to go upstairs and get them this time 😂 well… most times I’m too lazy to use them. If only I had a Dollar Tree that sells tweezers that I could keep with my garden supplies ☺️☺️😂😂
@@SassyGalPrepping 🤣
Good job 👍👍
Thanks!
My gardening teen loves your setup.
Aww thank you!! 😊
Nice system !
Thanks! 😎💋
I’m confused about one thing only. I’ve been told specifically NOT to use spring water due to minerals, calcium etc. Is this true?
Spring water in the USA and Canada has a relatively low calcium concentration, with an average of 21.8 mg/L. Purified waters have a negligible calcium concentration. This should not matter at all as hydroponic and aero garden companies recommend using spring water or distilled water. Mineral waters, on the other hand, have higher calcium concentrations, an average of 208 mg/L. Don’t use those! 💋😎
I’ve been struggling to grow anything but basil in my system. I use the same as yours and the cilantro doesn’t even sprout and the others choke each other when I do 2-3 seeds per pod
So far, I have good luck with Bibb lettuce and regular green leaf lettuce. I haven’t even tried herbs yet. How long have you had your system?
What’s the best mode to start of seedlings (hemp)
Does having a fan help reduce mold or mildew? Or is it a gimmick?
It’s not a gimmick. The fan helps the plants to grow stronger by mimicking an outdoor breeze. The stickers or foil covers over the pods help to keep mold/mildew from forming on them.
thank you
How important is it to remove the extra seedlings?? It feels like a waste to just remove and throw them away… 🙁 Can they be transplanted to soil if you do have to remove them?
Thank God I didn’t throw the little white plug away 🤣🤣
Thanks for the video lady. Really helped me set this up for my mother.
I grow toy choi in this unit and it does great. It has a lot more space between plants and it does amazing. It even had a little fan in the hood
What is the yield like? I like to eat salad every day!
I’m not sure you could keep up with having a salad every day unless you have 2-3 of these going. If it’s just you and you want to have a small salad every day, you could get a couple of these and start them about 3 weeks apart from each other. This would give you a continuous harvest. I have a playlist called “hydroponic gardening” and there are two videos that show in better detail what I get from a harvest. Hopefully that will help you determine what you can grow at home. 💋😎🌱
Thanks I will watch them!
I have a couple of the IDOO systems. They work great for me so far. Thanks for sharing your video. New subscriber to your channel. 👍
So do the stickers prevent mold?
Also, do you have to leave it on 24/7?
I was gifted one of these awhile ago and want to start using it. 😊
