Time Lapse of a New Pond Over 2 Years – Atli Eon Camera
This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Growing Answers”.
Over 2 years ago I decided to test this brand of camera long term. I was given this from the company for review. Initially I did a review about the camera itself and not so much about the time-lapses it makes. I am a little disappointed with the video quality but other than that I do like its features and app control. It has proven to work long term without any glitches which is very important. This company now offers a variety of other dedicated time lapse cameras.

Thanks for watching. Although it looks like the pond was built quickly, it took a full month of solid labor to complete in my spare time. The planning took several months too. I had a small amount of help to move the liner on one day since its too much for one person to handle. I also had a little help moving a few tons of gravel. The rest was all done by me alone with only a shovel, a wheel barrow and my hands. No machines.
I apologize for the low quality video. When I started this a few years ago I only previewed clips on my tiny phone screen and did not realize that the auto-generated time-lapses were such a low bit-rate. There is no option in the camera to adjust it. At least not with the old or current (time of posting) firmware. The camera does better with close-ups or lower detail images. My thoughts on this camera is that it needs feature upgrades. Here is a tip…It would be better to use the picture saving option so you can import the original photos and use a PC to create the video rather than having the camera do it. But when you are dealing with 10s of thousands of photos after a project it can be a lot to work with.
My opinion is that if you are buying a camera that specializes in time-lapses, it should take the hard work out of it and have no need for post processing just to get a better looking video. I don’t feel like this was 2+ years down the drain since this was not really a very interesting subject to shoot anyway. It was more or less just to test the camera and watch the plants grow around my DIY pond.
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Cheers from south of Houston.
