Happy Hydroponicing!
Loving my hooch buckets, thanks Hoocho! 😘
Another great addition! Looking forward to the day where more of these designs will be available on Hydroland 🙂
Yes please 🙏
Nice!
Great stuff! I wonder if you could 3D print a float valve? May still need a washer. Even a hose connector too?
Worth putting some kind of wall with holes between the float valve and the pot to protect the valve?
@@chriswhite1458 it’s there
Awesome! Started using mine just yesterday, really looking forward to how they perform 🙂
Wicked designs mate🍺🍺
😂🤣👌🏻 I see what you did there
@@downunderfulla6001 sad. You were there an hour before me
a bit of weed mat like the copper stuff auto pots use in the base of the pot would stop the roots blocking the float valve
Brilliant! Would the results also be different because the hooch buckets were also on a RGGS?
@@belleomalley1022 it’s possible the roots suffocate the wicks more than the net cups.
I’d have to test more though.
have you considered growing marshmallow root this way? i think it’d grow great in this wicking system.
Wick-ed!
This looks like a really interesting design. From my understanding, I wouldn’t need to be fussing over the pH / EC of the reservoir once it’s mixed since this is a ‘total loss’ system? Mix once and only need to check the level in the reservoir every x to do bulk refill? Obviously the root growth around the float valve is a downside. What if you had one separate box ‘remote’ for the float valve and teed off for all the pot stands? The only issues would be roots clogging the pipes themselves and, obviously, the need for quite accurate levelling of all the modules. Having the float valve box as a separate print would allow for printing on the more ubiquitous 220×220 print bed and you only need to buy and maintain one float valve.
Wooow that is epic. I wish I had room for a 3D printer.
Get this up on hydro land. I need the hooch bucket version for my cucumbers. Not sure it is great for tomatoes and capsicums that like dry feet at night!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Big fan your work Hochoo!
BIG DOG!! yet another great idea, great job. Speaking of blocking float valves. Have you seen or tried the stainless steel float valves on ebay? I just got a few to try. Seem like a good way to use a valve with no worry that roots could block the unit or hold the float down
What stops stainless from getting blocked by roots ?
Link me, I’ve got one but the ball is too large hahaha (if it won’t link in comments flick me an email)
I find thick cotton shoelaces also work as a wick
Printing one now out of PETG.
Going to make a custom bucket to fit too. 👍
