Hey goodday I was wondering do you have any advice on how to create a DIY aquaculture at home that is very water efficient using a concrete inland pond? I am a student but me and few other communiy member are coming together to create it for food sustainability. Love from Caribbean β™₯ great content.

When I was a child living on our family sheep farm, my mother got some guineas. My father put up with them for a few years but their noise drove him slightly craze so he put them in some wheat sacks ( keeping them in the dark ) loaded them on the old fergie tractor and moved them a couple of miles away over the hill at the back of the farm. Next morning they were all back at our house, very difficult to get rid of the adults πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    Hi Rob 1:34

  • @Basstasticification says:

Do the supports only being on the ends of the pipes cause enough flex to effect water flow? I would worry about a belly in the middle with the weight of all that soil on top of them.

  • @Howie672 says:

17:09 way cool, I was just debating if I should ask or you would think me mad. Was thinking the other day the fish add ammonia, can I skip the fish and pee in it?
Do you have ammonia numbers from fish I could use to guide pee ing in a system?

  • @zestynotions says:

I add a small Pleco to my sump tank and my radial settling tank in the summer time and it lives happily of the algie and keeps it very clean while also adding nutrients πŸ™‚

  • @nickimoto007 says:

On my rails, i build them level and I put adjustable standpipes at the outlet to control the water level. So in case of some catastrophic failure in a different part of the system, the rails will always hold a certain level of water so they don’t burn up. That happened to me with nft system and I lost everything.
Love your older aquaponics stuff. I’ve been a fan for a long time. Good luck to you πŸ™πŸ»

  • @HippocratesGarden says:

I’m sorry, but only in the U.S. can there be “Organic hydroponics”. I’m not saying it doesn’t grow stuff, and compared to most mass market, grocery store food, healthier, but to be truly Organic, requires soil. There is definatly a place for hydroponics, and aquaponics, but it’s not organic.

    Looking good Rob.πŸ€™

You tweaked the dual root zone method. And made a wicking bed out of it.
    That’s cool Rob!
