I really appreciate you doing these videos brother, God bless ❤
New Brunswick has good soil. Lots of trees and trails. Lots of snow. A LOT of people hunt and fish here. Lots of independent markets. Southern NB = english speaking, northern NB = french. Both languages are welcome province wide. I live there.
My wife and I are offgrid in New Brunswick! on 100 acres! it’s absolutely fantastic. Great communities here.
Same here have 350-acre my own 40 acre lake check it out on Denis Losier Outdoors there eh!
I live near Woodstock. A lot of forestry and potato farming here. Black flies are atrocious all summer long. Love the people.
In 2022 NB added more people through mass immigration then they have had in the last 29 years combined. I live near the bay of Fundy and it is a great place to grow food but I would avoid north facing slopes(kills your fall crops with shade) and employ green houses and cold frames.
Western Cape Breton is amazing!
Another New Brunswick consideration is language. Much of northern and western New Brunswick (e.g., Miramichi, Edmundston, etc.) is predominately French. If you are not at least bilingual, you may struggle in these areas.
What FEMA map do u use?
Southern NB has a nuclear power plant. The province is mostly a big mosquito infested swamp. Wildlife is abundant. The Acadian Forest is slightly different than the Boreal Forest. Acreage isn’t as cheap as it was before the pandemic. One of Canada’s main immigration gateways. The province is the beta testing grounds for digitalization of government services and one of the more advanced cybersecurity sectors in Canada. Winters suck and Summers are too short. There’s definitely better places but NB is doable for sure.
Hope they can keep the poojeets out!
Moved from bc to nb. Love it but the flies ugh
I remember when I moved to Ontario and then Quebec as a young man, everyone asked me why I would move out east.
I moved to PEI a couple of years ago and noticed that stormy weather is often buffered by Nova Scotia. If people are looking for a coastal feel, there are so many beaches within driving distance that you can look for less expensive property away from the coast line.
Are you going to do Alaska?
Yes.
We’ve had a flood of families move her during the last 3-4 years that have moved to get away from BC and ON particularly. Housing prices and farmland has been snapped up and is not that easy to come by any longer! Lots of young families have moved in so I have to disagree with what you’re saying here. And we have good farmland!
If you intend to homestead in NB, make sure you check out it’s watershed areas. Tons of it in NB
Hello Curtis, are you planning to do one video for Quebec ?
Every province and every state my friend.
My ex and I have been looking for properties in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We had originally been eyeing properties out west but after digging around we found things more within financial reach down east.
