Happy Hydroponicing!
The added thermal mass of the media might solve the heat problem of towers. 🎉
I rekon, also the weight helps to anchor them making them less likely to topple.
It’s a grate idea… There. I said it.
I remember you saying you wouldn’t use tomatoes in these types of systems anymore I was wondering if you can do super micro dwarf tomatoes and pepper varieties and other dwarf fruiting plants maybe that would be a game changer for nft and vertical nft towers
Grate job 😂
Coco would be great for the summer heat and not as much electricity. Just slow the flow on Coco to a drip system.
idk i think this idea is full of holes.
@CriticoolHitdoesn’t hold much water…
I watch Hoocho posts for many reasons but in the primary list is spotting signs of a grey beard – soon
There are a couple rouge greys.
But hopefully you’ll be watching for a while 😅
I’m now really wondering how root vegetables would grow in this system. Being able to take it apart like that would make harvesting a breeze.
Great set up Hoocho
I like this system a lot, it’s great for growing lots of smaller plants in a vertical orientation.
I love this … Always inspired by your post but this right here is on another level! Well-done for all you do and share
this is good…. but an nft does this so much easier! Great if your short on space though i suppose 🙂
Was thinking the coco mix would drain better if say a 50/50 with perlite to allow water to escape easier.
Also your green house is looking to need some love at the back with a dropping rafter.
Vertical is a great use of space but the lettuce always looks lite and loose in these on everyone’s channel.
Why is this?
My lettuce is soil grown and probably 4 times the bio mass per a plant in 60 days in the soil. I do stage them into 500mm pots before they go in ground. I’m probably sitting around 10-26 deg air temp, 13-16 soil temp
if doing strawberries what would be the ideal spacing between towers?
I need a pee now 🤣that last few seconds broke me. 😳
We have a strawberry farm all be it a relatively small farm (320 plants) but each time I watch you do this I start to wonder if we would be better off changing to this type of growing system. My concern though on the south coast is whether my plants would survive in this system over winter? That’s when our plants are dormant and we cover their pots with straw and leave them out in the cooler growing room. We then transfer all of the pots up into our plastic covered high tunnel to get them off to an early start at the end of winter and then move them back down into the shade growing house in the blistering heat during summer. Hmmmm I think I have to keep watching and learning. Ive already purchased your water tanks which are still in their boxes until I work out exactly where we are going to place them. I don’t want to put them somewhere and then find that I decide to go hydroponic and have to move them once they are full.
watching this got me thinking… if there was a hallow column in the center of feeding in high pressure aeroponics or fogponics.
Thanks!
Cheers mate!
Cool.
5:48 whats the ph meter your using? How often do you need to calibrate? I need something very reliable, I have a good one but I calibrate it like every couple months, kinda annoying
That is one way I grow. I use 2 one gallon buckets stacked. One bucket has holes in the bottom. The outside bucket has a rubber grommet and a tube in it. That goes to a controller bucket. It is a bucket-style ebb and flow. I also like ebb and flow tables with 8″ pots. I use hydroton or clay pebbles.
I watched a few of your videos from 6-3 years ago.
Hoocho, your production skills are next level. Thanks for the videos ❤
