Is this how disaster relief should work? FEMA Camps Get Millions/ NC Residents Struggle to Survive!

This Video is from the Youtube channel: “The Aeroponic Tower Channel”.

FEMA Camps Get Millions as NC Residents Struggle to Survive!

Donate a “Tractor Shed tiny home” for Hurricane Helene victims.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the people of Western North Carolina are facing harsh realities. While FEMA has reportedly allocated millions to set up camps, many residents are left struggling in makeshift tents with little support. These funds seem to prioritize comforts and conveniences for FEMA personnel over the urgent needs of local families who lost everything. With winter approaching, these people are desperate for real aid and solutions, not costly bureaucratic perks. Is this how disaster relief should work?

FEMA has thousands of temporary housing stored out west. Why are those not being sent to the disaster area for the citizens?

    • @theaeroponictowerchannel says:

I have heard of 2 being used in the area. That all!!! I haven’t personally seen any.

    • @Skidderoperator says:

Survivors wont give up the land, so they need a worse storm.

Fed fema guy looks well fed.

    • @pollysshore2539 says:

They can provide different options for temp housing to people that experience significant – total damage.

A lot of it depends on what options the family or individuals wants or needs. It depends on the size of the household, medical needs, etc.

They can rent and renovate. They have been looking at vacant properties and properties available for direct lease. FEMA has put out notices to property management companies. They can make some existing structures accessible for those with disabilities if need be.

This is an option for larger and multi generation families. They are trying to make sure the properties do not fall place undo strain on people, so they are trying to set them up within 30 mi ranges of their work, etc.

If people don’t have a place to put a temporary trailer right now they will opt for a hotel/motel or a different option.

Most people are getting families with children, elders and the chronically ill – disabled into temporary housing first.

It’s standard triage in a disaster area.

This is also true of groups constructing tiny homes and temporary shelters for free or for a discounted price. I know Buncombe Co schools put in an order for 70 some tiny homes a couple weeks ago being built by a company in Virginia. 26 of their high school students are displaced, as are several teachers and staff.

The homes will have compost toilets, solar power, etc.

A local non profit that makes transitional homes is building prefab small shelters on wheels that can be pulled anywhere and used as storage – a shelter.

      RV’s have been brought in.

Tiny homes have been given to some elderly residents.

As cleanup progresses and water situations are sorted out more temporary residences will go in.

People are able to stay in hotel, motels and inns now. This is happening all around WNC. Some hotels been able to hook up large potable water tanks to their system.

Several locals also have friends and family here that they can stay with for a while.

We had fema come in after the tornados. The lady at the corner had to replace her house because of all the trees that fell through(yes, through) her house. It cost $150,000 to replace her single wide trailer! They gave her *some* money, the rest was a loan. This is a retired woman on social security as far as I know she has no other income. It’s ridiculous!

  • @Cynthia-s4h says:

Years ago I was a single mother with no home and two little girls…I bought a block of land with a little house that was uninhabitable… people in the community just appeared out of nowhere and fixed my little house so we had a warm dry home. This is what will happen for your community. I’m in Australia and over forty years I added to my little house and made it home…it’s still unfinished in many ways but it’s safe and dry and warm. The community you have is strong and it will happen

    • @theaeroponictowerchannel says:

That is amazing and how it should be! They need to stop taking our tax money so we have more to help!

    • @Cynthia-s4h says:

@@theaeroponictowerchannel I hear you sister…this is terrible misuse of funds imho. Just keep doing what you’re doing with the community and expect nothing from outside…it will be a blessing… come out of her my people….bible quote. Your community self sufficiency will bolster all of you to prepare your community for whatever is surely coming. Hold fast.God is working I can see it from Australia

Really appreciate the way you are documenting Stephanie. I also appreciate the way you modulate your speech getting the truth across without being inflammatory although everything going on out there as far as the government is concerned incenses me. If they didn’t have our money it wouldn’t be that big a deal but they do and they never seem to use it for the people. Very much agree with your assessment on the FEMA/gov’t response.
LOVE that the people are coming together to help each other. That’s the way & hopefully one of these days that will be how we handle everything-by community. Listening to your story brings tears to my eyes because so many people are in so much need. Keep letting us know how it goes and keep your links for donations in the description so we can circle back from time to time to send more money. Praying for your family and community and sending lots of love❤❤❤

I’m new. Post flood. I started watching YouTubers who were focused on telling the story. Not putting up click bait titles and selling theories to get viewers. I follow a lot of former military vets who were combat specialists who’ve transitioned into all sorts of YouTube content creators. You and your husbands videos, just happened to fit in. Not sensationalism. Real. I’ve also become interested in your primary content pre-flood also. I really just want to say how proud I am of your selflessness and your commitment to the community. I can see the toll it’s taking on you mentally and spiritually. I know there’s so much on your plate…just please give yourself the time to reset periodically. Your well being is so important..for you as well as everyone’s sake. God speed in the job at hand. I’m not a big prayer guy, but I am praying for you and Western N.C.
