As a mom with 4 boys id prefer the front door to be offset to one side of the living room and make an entry area with wall hangers and shoe/boot storage. This keep that mess out of the center of the living room. Also helps with traffic flow. It’s a bit awkawrd tohave your main entryway go right through the center of your sitting area. So many shoes and jackets! 😅

Mom of 5 boys (including twins) here. I designed a house that had a fireman’s pole upstairs as boys will push each other down the stairs when in a hurry to get dinner! Pole delivered into a corner of family room so as not to waste space. Top of pole upstairs was in a 3.5’x3.5′ / small “closet” that could have a solid floor easily installed when pole was removed as they all grew up or when selling the house. Also, putting it in a closet at one end of upstairs kept anyone from accidentally falling down the pole/ hole.

I look forward to hearing how it went at the building department. Sometimes it’s better to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission.

Or better to somehow check if he has an offshore account – many of them (IMO) are being paid to block recovery, rebuilds, etc like they blocked the rescues….

Praise God for all of you! This is so wonderful!

It is just wonderful to see how much is getting done. I have been living in a county in VA that has no housing code…the landlord has not fixed the acidic well water since Feb 2023..I bring water in from a recovery meeting at a local church on Sat. 67 years old living alone for over 1200 days. Missing my son because he lives in the dark not red-pilled. It has been over three years since I saw him. I am so grateful for a roof over my head but wish I lived near you all so I could help. I do have three dogs and a cat. But need people in my life. Hope to meet you someday. ❤🙏

If you can find a church they would be happy to have you and would come pick you up ❤

It’s sad that some Democrats will abandon their own families because they see them as their enemies if they disagree on party platforms. I don’t see Republicans abandoning their families for not agreeing with THEIR politics. Wonder why?

  • @deborahwilliams3176 says:

If they have a porch enclose it to add a mud room instead of taking it from the living area.

    • @AnneRiddle-sm5jl says:

You are unbelievable! Be sure and take care of you. 😊

    • @TinaMarie869 says:

I agree. With six people you need all the room you can get

    • @tinasprocket2812 says:

@@TinaMarie869 5 boys here – & you’re right – it’s not just the space – it’s the permanent damage to the floor/ carpet with dirt & tiny rocks on shoes. No way 6 ppl can stand there while everyone’s trying to come inside to get the shoes off all at once….

  • @JanaVaughn-l9z says:

Oh if only the world was full of god fearing resilient beautiful ❤️ people like you ❤

  • @cynthiawilliamson5905 says:

Hi Stephanie! Make sure you get it in writing that it’s up to codes you get the name of the person look at it and you get it stamped! And make a copy!

    • @annab4796 says:

Yes, get it in writing and have it dated and signed, with the code serial number indicated, so any challenges can properly addressed, if needed. ❤🙏

  • @GraceGrantedBeliever says:

“I’m just a Mom.” Ha ha! So, a master planner with a black belt in empathy and absolutely will not take NO for an answer…Just a Mom.

  • @karen0961 says:

Consider making the main bed on a box with hydraulic hinges for added storage much like you would see in a RV. When we lived in our RV , our bed was this way and I used it for pantry items and swapping out winter/summer clothes.

  • @chanchan5349 says:

I agree with a mud room situation or have everyone remove shoes on porch with some type of shoe storage. Removing shoes before entering keeps a tiny house so much cleaner without also having to corral shoes or take up floor space.

    • @annab4796 says:

Perhaps part of the front porch can be converted into an entranceway, so that the front door enters this mud-room entranceway and the house is accessed from it, to allow people to remove their coats and boots/shoes before entering the living space. An entranceway allows people to settle themselves before entering their home 🙂

  • @susmith7837 says:

A boat fitter would be helpful. Quite amazing how they fit everything into a tiny space.

  • @Joel-q6g says:

Add another porch/ pole barn ” pole corner layout unattached to large open room and install door that can access this “to- be walk in closet to be used for supplys, food pantry and all other needs ( one side for clothes, the other for food etc. a 10′ by 10′ layout would be good, allowing for 3′ hall with 3 1/2 ‘ shelving….bla bla bla. Codes can not touch this add- on later, because it’s not attached to main house…😅❤
