I Pollinate 80 Greenhouse Tomatoes With a Toothbrush… Then Harvest Ginger + Turmeric 🌿

This Video is from the Youtube channel:Homegrown Passion”.

Greenhouse night shift! 🌙 I hand-pollinate 80 tomato plants with an electric toothbrush, dial in grow lights + temps, troubleshoot unhappy cucumbers, then harvest fresh ginger and turmeric from my deep-barrel hydroponics—and replant with wormwood.

In this video:
• Why I toothbrush-pollinate tomatoes (no hive for ~80 plants)
• My grow light schedule (evening boost) + small temp tweak that helped growth
• Quick nutrient adjustment that greened plants up fast
• Why my cucumbers hated the middle row—and LOVE the wall row
• Deep-barrel hydroponics harvest: ginger + turmeric (smells AMAZING)
• Replanting the barrel with wormwood (long-term crop)
• Flower season prep: geranium seed “paper towel + fridge” method—does it work?

Tonight was a full greenhouse “night shift” 🌙🍅
Question for you: have you ever used the wet paper towel + 24 hours in the fridge trick for geranium seeds—did it improve germination for you? And also… have you seen cucumbers get weird/curly when they don’t get enough light?

And don’t forget — COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT! Send me a photo or short clip of what you’re growing (hydro, soil, raised beds, flowers, greenhouse… all of it). Include your NAME + WHERE you’re growing from. Email is in the description 💚

I didn’t know you could simply rinse salt out of medium before re-use. I need to stop dumping my coco out in the yard.

Another unbelievable video Katie. All your hard work never goes unnoticed girl. I grew ginger last year and plan on it again. I have gotten sidetracked with the new worm compost project and need to get back out the greenhouse and get busy. Love the new night video kind of nice to have the beautiful views and and a whole different video time.

  • @antoniosanford4675 says:

I can’t believe you aren’t using Mason bees as pollinators. If you did you could just use a couple of them for smaller yields. Also you could switch them around between your strawberries cucumbers and tomatoes. I have some weird ideas that I’ve been chatting with the AIs about hydroponic greenhouse squarefoot gardening that I would like to share with you.

  • @prjndigo says:

funny tidbit. if you’re going to plant in rows in long box beds or actual soil if you roll your seeds up in a cloth ribbon you can then unroll it directly and re-use the ribbon year after year – you can get a fair amount of it from old t-shirts and full skirts that would otherwise be thrown-out or turned to TP through goodwill at a super low price
