This is probably the dumbest question you’re ever gonna get but what happens if you trim your microgreens and let them keep growing. Sorry. Newb here.

  • @vicsheldon427 says:

Can you use (eat) the roots?

  • @alexlavertyau says:

What kind of sand are you using? I wonder if this would work with beach sand… I might have to try it.

I bought a 25lb bag of sprouting lentils to cook and eat. I got kinda worried about the economic situation so I`ve kept them stored in a freezer just in case and only cooked a few pounds. I plan to grow some to see if it`s worth it. Pests are getting my Southern Pea varieties…a borer beetle that stings the pea inside the pods…but the young green pods are great boiled so I`ve adapted to eating them that way. 95% of the peas are ruined by the beetle before shelling stage so the 5% that survive provide next year`s seeds.

Red Rippers are the only ones I get any success with because they continue producing vines all summer, I put them around the edge of the yard and under my fruit trees and this keeps the bunnies happy and out of my main garden. I`m having very bad pests on all my micro dwarf tomatoes growing in hydro buckets outside. Next year I`m using homemade mosquito net cages over them.
