Happy Hydroponicing!
A float system like that for soil would not work because you need setback with soil. The autopots system allow for a dry period between topping up water
Bonjour professeur. Beau travail.
And now gain even more plant matter with a fabric pot. I bet you!
Good comparison, have been complaining about the bags of potting mix.Have tried them all and even gave them fish emulsion,Still under performed We are being charged hefty prices for those bags. The have far too much woodchip and not much nutrition.Thats enough to send anyone over to hydro. Thanks for the video
Mon
does it make a big difference which hydroponic media youre using? perlite, coco or clay pebbles?
While you would probably be better off financially using coco instead of soil/potting mix. I wonder what the results would have been if they both have the same hydroponic nutrient.
Might have to try it 😄
U can cut cost by using one float valve for all the pots that are the same water level. If so, u can add a stop valve for each pot for easy maintenance. Or, just one stop valve after the float valve.
This approach assumes that the water uptake is the same for the plants in all pots. May or may not be true.
This would be a massive pain as the pots would have to be exactly level. Or it’ll drain your whole res. I prefer multiple floats.
Watching you mix that potting mix/hydro base without spilling, impressed haha. Is it possible to save some coco coir from the used peppers? Im asking as its not that cheap to source at my location
I always reuse the coco a few times, adding more fresh coco to rejuvenate. When it becomes too degraded you can amend your garden with it.
Would have liked to see you feed the soil based with some granular or liquid fertiliser too, as when you plant in soil you would likely be doing that if you know what you’re doing! Maybe next time! Pots looks cool, keen to try.
I would say this experiment was very successful given that the results are showing that the plants can grow in sub-irrigated manner using a soil medium if you add those components. The reason why the soil ones didn’t do so well was because you didn’t add additional fertilizer after you bulked it out with those filler ingredients.
Basically the different between with nutrients and without nutrients
Dad cameo for the win! Loved gardening with my dad and miss it.
