How To Hydroponics. Does SuperThrive Really Work?
This Video is from the Youtube channel: “HowToHydroponics”.
Does Superthrive really work? We start a little experiment to see if it does. One set of seeds will be started with superthrive and regular nutrients the other seeds will be started and gown without superthrive.
I laughed like crazy at the funny bit between 3:37-4:24. You gotta watch that whole
segment to get the full effect. Very good, you totally caught me by surprise.
The old-time video at the beginning is great too.
Superthrive works well when plants are in stress from my experience. Think it has B1 and plant hormones as well. I have also used it as rooting hormone with success too. I used a stronger concentration tough like 1 tbs per gallon. It definitely works in this instance but I think it’s very subtle..if there is not a problem already with the plant/soil ..then you will not see much because it’s not a fertilizer…it’s not going to trigger any huge response or explosive growth.
Ive never used the liquid but ive ground seaweed/kelp and steeped it, boiling and condensing it works good to… I never done a control but it seemed to do the trick…
have you notice a difference since you used superthrive? being thinking about using it not sure about it
Ive used Superthrive in addition to my Bonticare fert (grow/bloom+cal-mag) for tomatoes soil and hydroponic. Also w/ ph adjusted tap water for houseplant feedings/transplants all of which have shown very obvious positive outcomes. Each plant has show better health and color, almost zero transplant shock when root dipped, larger and more uniform fruits, and MUCH hardier outdoor plants. Do you need it? No. Is it worth a try and make a noticable difference? Yes. Its a multi-vitamin for plants.
sorry to point out a floor in your method of testing 🙁 when you soaked the blocks separately, you then put them in same sprouting tray. the sprouting tray heats forming condensation that travels from block to block contaminating the whole experiment. you would have to use 3 sprouting trays and insure exact same climate is maintained across all of them.
It works fine, just don’t over use it. One drop per gallon for normal use. Don’t ever use the quarter teaspoon measurement as shown on the bottle. No more than 5 drops on first use or your plants are gonna have a bad day!
This stuff helps & it costs pence so a definitive yes. Use only during veg as it will hinder flower production. Molasses helps as well sparingly, we dont want hyperactive plants! Silicon plus is a must, a root stimulator/culture is also needed. Sea weed once as a pre flower boost. Epsom salts twice. Pk and a veg nutrients obviously and if you wanna push the boat out you can play around with some boosters such as canna boost or fulvic acid. Just remember always ph & temp check Happy harvest
As for hermes no controlled experiment undertaken but usually induced by stress resulting from poor gardening. Temp or fert problems or light cycle
Super Thrive is meant to to be used in conjunction with a fertilizer and not by itself as stated on the package. It made a big difference with my pepper plants. I fed some with the mix and some without. The mix plants grew darker foliage and got taller as well.
if that’s the case. is it superthrive thats working or is it just the fertilizer. You wont be able to tell
Superthrive is awesome, especially for transplants. It seems to relieve plant stress almost immediately.
I also noticed a big difference in plant growth when using superthrive.
My seedlings also transitioned to veg quicker than usual, didnt matter if the genetics of the plants were supposed to be slow veggers they got to the ideal size I wanted them quick.
Usually my plants roots had to hit the bottom before taking off in top growth but not with superthrive, try it out for yourself.
yeah and I bet you work for the superthrive snake oil company trying to damage control on the truth.. yeah ive heard about you guys…
its actually 5 ml per gallon at transplant and 1ml at normal
Seeds don’t need anything but warmth and moisture to sprout.
They have all their powers within the seed to get them to the cotyledons.
did you see that explosion? hope he’s ok, that’s some powerful stuff, i could feel the heat through my computa
Ok. I feel like I have to clear some things up. Superthrive is excellent
when transplanting and added in beginning when using hydroponics, it
really makes a difference on the root growth. It can also be of use if
the plant is not well. But it is not intended for continuous
usage. I only recommend you use it at early vegetative stage to boost
root growth, and never under flowering (well if there is a risk you will
lose the plant otherwise, then go for it)
I have also used superthrive successfully to feminize seeds (hormones I
guess, has been 100% success of the ones that germinated so far) with a
strong superthrive/water solution. This was just an experiment of mine
and now I use it regularly if feminized seeds are not available (beware
that some of the seeds wont survive this!)
That Explosion Was EPIC!! 😮.😉
I really like the explosion, it makes up for the wasted time at not getting answers about the super thrive.
I used to use that. Mainly B vitamins and the same growth hormone found naturally in Kelp/seaweed. It works but if you spend more to buy a hydroponic brand of B vitamins and Kelp extract your results will be even better.
B1 does play an important role in root development, but the benefits are manufactured within the plant, naturally by leaves, and then sent to the roots to promote new growth. Unfortunately, there is no benefit when it’s applied directly to the roots. When gardeners experience positive results from B1 products, it is because the formula most likely had additives such as synthetic rooting additives and fertilizers to pick up the slack.
I believe the addition of this product to my care routine saved a Paphiopedilum I received from an Ebay seller that was in questionable condition when I received it.
