Happy Hydroponicing!
I can visualise a 2024 /2025 vintage of Hoocho Red happening 😂
“2024/25 was an incredible year at El Rancho Hoocho” *swirls wine pretending to know what I’m talking about*
@Hoocho lolololol i am sure it taste good , the first batch of Hoocho red should tested by Rob in his shade house lololol
@@Hoochoall you need is a pencil thin moustache and a smoker’s jacket!
I would absolutley buy a case if you have shipping to the US
I’ve been toying with the idea of running lines from the overflow to a buried IBC and then pumping the waste nutrients to in ground fruit trees.
Great idea
If you are short on space, could you put grapes and dragonfruit on the same frame?
You probably could, but the dragonfruit would likely get outcompeted for light, and it wants light on it to start fruiting.

Well done fab video
Just when you think there’s something he can’t hydro. Good on ya mate!
Grapes are being gown on Rangiroa Atoll.
I can’t wait. On the equator there is no winter die off but I have read still prune them back as if in the die off.
BTW we are applying for AUS-Aid grant for 50 Hooch Bucket systems and 50 towers.
Hoping Hydroland replies as we need a quotation as we have our Aus forwarder.
Thank you
In the winter the plants actually grow the whole next season of vines inside the old vines, Pruning them stresses the plants which is something they thrive on but you will also lose a lot of the next growth. Grape vines love being abused. The time to starve them of water is when they have already started to fruit as it compacts the grapes, creating more sugar in a smaller vessel, the opposite of what you would do for eating grapes, where you want them big and juicy.
@@JeremyPaulStiles thank youJeremy
BIG DOG with an absolute top dog! Love the bum slide, what a skill he has learnt from BIG DOG!
Excellent insight
Thanks Hooch, I was really looking forward to this video, will be starting my own hydroponic grapes. We have very cold winters, would you recommend over wintering the vines indoors?
Also, did you feed them during your winter months?
Grapes come from Greece where the vines freeze over winter, it’s perfectly fine. They are actually still actively growing new vines inside the old ones that will pop out in spring.
@ Thank You, I appreciate the reply. I wasn’t certain with them being potted and having the roots above ground.
I love, love, love scoria. I use it under all of my moss poles and also starting to use it in semi-hydro. Leca is so expensive and too smooth and light to really anchor things. (Lightness is good at times too.) I find that the scoria wicks better than leca too. The top layer of leca is always completely dry, but the top layer of scoria often looks mottled with the very top stones dry, but the ones that are half-hidden staying damp.
For the pot on the left where you drilled holes in the bottom of the cachepot, can you fit a saucer under the pot within the cachepot to create that reservoir, or is it too snug? What if you trim the rim off the saucer?
You have been an inspiration for me. My poor family have had to put up with all my weird gardening experiments.
@@timheffernan4519 appologies to your family 😂
Glad to see you actually did this, I know we we talking about it last year. Did you try the hops as well?
looking forward to adding this to my garden
I grow grapes in my yard. The big problem I have is the deer love to eat them. But they grow with no effort. I want to set up a hydroponics setup with my following clippings. I live in Minnesota, so it gets cold. My soil is loom and sand. Excellent drainage in my yard.
I’ve got two of the same species of grape plants that I planted in my back yard here in Oregon (an area in the states known for its Pinot Noir wines). I planted them 2 years ago and they were 2 years old when I got them. This has given me some clues how to improve my plants.
Also, don’t forget the leaves are edible, so with that plant that is draining too fast, maybe don’t let it fruit at all and just supplement your roughage with the leaves from the plant.
What do you use for pest control and what pests do you have to deal with? If any??
Merry Christmas 🎄
Final scene had us in stitches.
Let’s ‘slide’ into 2025🎉
Merry Xmas Hoocho!
I appreciate the effort that went into showing us a long term project like this in one video. Grape work as always.
@@aza5975 I lost it 🤣😂👌🏻
i would really like to start seeing comparison videos where you grow something u already have done well but then all try different methods of grow and see if any of the method for that particular plant is better than the rest
