was the hole cutter for your seedlings heated so that it melted the Styrofoam?

So after established , during growth are you constantly adding water and maybe nutrients?

    • Keep on Growin' with Mike VanDuzee says:

      define constantly

    • Danger Zone says:

gengayer.. Kratky IS NOT A SET IT AND FORGET IT method.. while it might be close IT IS NOT.. You must monitor your systems.. to insure the roots are at least floating in some nutrient fluids. The amount and or the frequency will depend upon how fast the plants in any given container will uptake them and the current air temp and humidity ..Evaporation will happen.

    • Keep on Growin' with Mike VanDuzee says:

@Danger Zone Kratky in it’s truest form is set it and forget it so you can relax. You can always do more but I do not say you HAVE TO. So some of my containers that I do nothing and grow plants, you are calling me a liar…nice. I forgive you for not understanding. The method has been changed over the years and yes, you can monitor and refill, you can meter and adjust. But telling people they can not do what the original experiment did is disingenuous. You can only speak from YOUR experience and should not tell people that are sharing theirs that they are wrong. This is what gets people discouraged, thinking there is only one way and if they can’t do that, they quit. There are MANY ways and yours is just one, mine is another. I do both. I have plants that I keep a long time and refill. I also have some that are SET IT AND FORGET IT.
