No days off for Mr arts n crafts aka BIG DOG! Hope the bees are appreciating all that their dad does for them.
Have a great new year cobba!

this is awesome! GO HOOCHO! Love the bee videos.

Summer/Spring are crucial for weekly inspections. Just because you find a queen cell doesn’t always mean it’s swarming. Most requeening cells are low or bottom of the frame. Most swarming cells are mid to high on the frame (yes of course there’s always exceptions).
If you’re getting a drop in egg production then I used to keep a cell in and squish the existing queen. Almost each hive I’d split once sometimes twice a season.
You could always just add a second honey super for extra room. My flow hives I’d always add a conventional super also. Just my preference.
    Awesome looking jig mate.
It won’t be too long and you’ll be looking for other places (family or friends) in the area to whack a few hives. A lot of people will let you keep hives on their property for 2-4 litres of honey per year 🍺🍺

  • @downunderfulla6001 says:

If you’re not using brass grommets in the wire holes, just use a staple. It stops the wire eventually pulling into the timber frame 🍺🍺

  • @franklentini4668 says:

U not going plastic frames for where you are

  • @christopherd.winnan8701 says:

Can’t wait to see an update video based on all the improvements suggestions that come in the comments!

  • @Philmoon69 says:

All my mates have a welder but I wouldn’t use it in a hydroponics channel 😅

  • @glennmccarthy8773 says:

HEY HOOch, you gcan you use a punch to push the end wire into the frame, mate

  • @jamiemartin3310 says:

Hi Hoocho any reason your not using eyelets

    • @Hoocho says:

I will start with: I’m not extremely experienced so I’m leaning on a lot of other people’s advice.
I’ve been to a bunch of bee keeping stores and all the prewired frames lack eyelets so it seems unnecessary.
However time will tell and if I start seeing that the wires loose tension I’ll update the video.

  • @amphion_au says:

Nice.. Wouldn’t take much to make it able to do ideals and other sizes too.. Kee’s dad is a beekeeper.. Can we expect another webstore soon?

  • @antoniosanford4675 says:

Can’t wait to see you do queen bee grafting! Also, when are you going to do the native stingless bees?!

  • @corwinwhitehorn7759 says:

8:52 Your frame is not tuned! 😱

    Happy New Year Hoocho!

  • @wayne8113 says:

    Thanks Hoocho, Happy New Year

  • @jeremym4104 says:

Whilst no plans to make or attempt this, I have always wondered how those were made – cheers!
