GROW Your OWN Lettuce for a HEALTHIER Salad Recipe!

Growing your own greens and herbs is one of the easiest and fastest ways to create some food security, increase your health and nutrient intake and start loving the taste of real food again. Here is one of my go-to salad recipes. Eating simple whole foods may take a little time to get used to but once you get a taste for real fresh food you will never want to go back to bland, old, grocery store lettuce that is depleted of nutrients!

I’m praying so!!! I have my guard up with the new administration but I hope I’m wrong and we see MASSIVE changes.

  • @ericksonsails says:

How can we feel confident the rockwool and nutrient solution only contains safe ingredients?

    • @theaeroponictowerchannel says:

I have spoken with the company in depth on it. They only use US sourcing and it’s minerals from the earth.

  • @karenromando4939 says:

Them towers are expensive!I totally agree with it does take time to get used to fresh fresh. BUT, when you get used to them, you won’t go back. I love organic bananas and brown eggs and won’t go back to dole bananas and or white eggs.

    • @theaeroponictowerchannel says:

They are an investment but they last forever so the return on investment is about a year to 1.5 years then it’s profit as the food costs SO much less. White eggs from the store freak me out!

    • @texasoutlook60 says:

@ karenromando4939 I agree and the olive box she showed is $150 and not adding s & h!

  • @marybwenzel says:

Thank you for sharing your techniques and encouragement for everyday healthful living! A friend in central Texas

I love eating salads as well. Thank you for sharing your recipe. I am currently growing in 2 raised garden beds. Bok choy, kale in 1 bed with spinach, potatoes, carrots, and caulufliwer in planters. Bed 2 has more cauliflower and snap peas growing. Since it is going to be winter and very colder, don’t know about covering them.

  • @TXDHC says:

I’m going to get my tower going again for winter in the garage. My greens are gorgeous right now in my raised beds…East Texas. We go without now before I’ll buy it from the store. I still trust Azure and get what I can from them.

Did you catch Billy’s live podcast today! If not go check it out. Now we know why the boots were falling apart and dogs were dying.

    • @theaeroponictowerchannel says:

I saw he posted it! Honestly, I’m afraid to know the truth.

    • @TXDHC says:

@ praying for all of you. My heart will forever be in those mountains. If I’d gotten my way, that’s where we would have retired….right there in the disaster zone. ☹️ it still brings me to tears. Much love.❤️

  • @JodiMontano says:

That looks delicious. I gave up paper towels, tissue, and a ton of chemicals several years ago. Like you, I keep a few PT on hand for dog accidents. I save so much by not continually having to buy all those products.

    • @theaeroponictowerchannel says:

Same here with the savings. I love not being dependent on things like that. It’s very freeing.

I’m still learning so much. I haven’t watched this whole video yet but you mentioned lemon balm and I did not know that that tasted good in a salad so I will try it. I have a whole bunch. That is a very full looks like a small shrub, I also wonder if I can dry it to use for tea later on any suggestions would be great! By the way I fixed collard greens the other night from you mentioning it in one of your videos. I found a recipe on Pinterest…. oh my gosh… So delicious! I prepared that recipe but then added it to a 13 bean soup with ham hock. I’ll need to find a lesser fat and less salt next time around… Lol! OK back to the video.😊

    • @theaeroponictowerchannel says:

You can dry the lemon balm for tea. It’s so good for you! Emotional support and nervous system support. Collards are my all time favorite!!

  • @Russ.H. says:

Yummy fixings, beautiful scenery as always. God Bless

  • @katiemcevoy says:

I just gave up paper towels too and have 4 young kids. I also have a stash I hide only for dog accidents too!

  • @delmadehoyos1946 says:

I love sliced strawberries and pecans in my salad 😋

  • @susanstrickland6774 says:

Yum!! That salad looks delish. Love fresh. Just put in some blueberries today. So plus veggies, I have strawberries, blackberries, and hopefully the blueberries in the spring. I’m excited. Not much better than a garden. 🙂

Fresh salad after a good rain from up above, made me think about that song.
Rain is a good thang. Glad to see those towers are still producing 🥬

  • @BWell247 says:
