Greenfield Ride On Mower is Now Running
This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Rob Bob’s Aquaponics & Backyard Farm”.ย
G'Day Folks. We love the old Greenfield ride on mower we bought a while back but have had a few issues that need fixing, namely the starter motor & sloppy clutch.
We hope this helps a few other folks out there that may have encounter similar issues.
Cheers all.

Greenfields with the 25hp Briggs are weapons
Oh, no. You need a new flywheel. Those tend to be spendy sinse many of them incorporate the generator.
Long term you’ll want to use some actually lube. WD40 is great, but its primary purpose is to displace water. Water Displacement formula 40.
WD acts like a solvent to free things up short term.
That’ll be useful for hauling parts for your aquaponics systems if you get/fabricate a cart or hauler for it.
good day
going mower racing soon?
I feel your pain with the joys of owning a farm Rob! It always feels like you’re either fixing something or on the way to fix something. ๐

The old Ford 9Ns whenever you had a brush chop or something spending on the back power takeoff. When you shove the clutch in it would keep spinning the transmission and run off and ditches and ponds, and everything else you always had to buy one of those override clutches on it, so when you push the clutching on the tractor The shaft would stop and it would spin. The power takeoff shaft went right through the tranny so whenever shaft is turning, it pushed the tranny unless you had to override clutch on the back of it that would let it disengage. We almost went in the cricket a couple times..
My goodness you do not seem to have much luck with mowers. We had our greenfield for 25yrs , only ever serviced it when it needed new blades tho the steering wheel came off in my hands once whilst mowing lol.Was not sure what to do so shoved it back on all the while still mowing.Thank goodness it never came off again. We did purchase it new and the company let us pay it off after a large deposit. At least you can work on things yourself and work it out.A big bonus on a farm, specially when funds can be hard to come up with.Take care both of you
A fine chariot you have there!
I got a tesla I need help with next mate๐๐ปโ๐ป
Saluting your perseverance Rob. I used to have an endless supply when younger but it gets less and harder the older I/we get. Where there is a will there is a way. Amazing you can actually make the added efforts to make documentary videos of it all as well.
At least you caught the problem before you ended up in the DAM!๐
Handy tool had to do a exhaust stud on a car many years ago. My mates dad had a kit. Doing old bangers up was his side hustle. I would be intersted to see the bits on the tractor its all a part of running the farm.
Cheers.
Hi Rob, A nice fix for a difficult problem. Popping off the seat is a neat trick.
