I’m glad I ran across your channel. I have enjoyed several of your videos. Thanks for inspiring me. Looking forward to Spring!

    • @plantedinthegarden says:

Happy to have you join us here. We love sharing our garden journey. We just want to help people to start growing their own food💚

  • @ThinkPraise says:

Thank you for the step by step nutrient recipe. Your crops are awesome.

    • @plantedinthegarden says:

Thank you! There’s plenty of recipes for hydroponics that you can make your own. We love trying them out to see how they do with our setup

  • @elizabethhappiestwhengarde2938 says:

Excellent video Marv and Char! I’ve always enjoyed your short reels on Instagram. But I really like the slower pace and more instructions on your YouTube videos 👏

    • @plantedinthegarden says:

Really appreciate you following our journey, we will definitely be making more long form videos here to help any way we can.

  • @jerfguy says:

Thank you so much for the education and even more for the inspiration.

    • @plantedinthegarden says:

Thanks for watching, glad you find this useful😊

    • @jerfguy says:

@@plantedinthegarden very useful. I built a downspout hydroponic garden in a 2×4 grow tent. What I’m finding most difficult is keeping the water clean and figuring out nutrients. Your videos are very peaceful and enjoyable to watch and learn from. Please keep them coming.

    • @rickytorres9089 says:

@@jerfguy You can probably use a simple aquarium “can” filter (or possibly DIYing this) for keeping things in check, provided algae aren’t taking over.

  • @Dr.Sheldor says:

Fantastic video. Love that you took the time to expand a bit on your reels. Thanks!

    • @plantedinthegarden says:

Thank you, still getting the hang of long form videos😅 We are enjoying the process and will be posting more here

  • @kevonhess9983 says:

I love that you use an organic method to source your hydro nutrients. I have been thinking about doing the same thing on a larger scale.

    • @plantedinthegarden says:

I have to admit when I first started I was using the premade nutrients. I tested a few and this seems to work for me since I have worm casting readily available from my vermicompost. There’s actually a ton of home made nutrients for hydroponics. That’s amazing that you’re planning to grow on a larger scale.

    • @rickytorres9089 says:

@@plantedinthegarden Me too, I didn’t know you can straight up use “teas” like this hydroponically. Especially as you mentioned Krathy method can spare the absurdly expensive pumping system, making it MUCH more reasonable to run.

    • @BreadAndGatorade says:

@@rickytorres9089 I like kratky as well. if I have to refill I only fill to 1/2 to 2/3 of the container to keep air roots. But my containers are large I don’t have to add unless I am growing a fruiting plant.
Do you know any organic powder nutrients?

    • @victorblakely6355 says:

@plantedinthegarden what is the name of the reflecting flim you? To keep the light inside

    • @tjchan77 says:

@@plantedinthegarden Hi, where can I buy premade nutrients for hydroponic? I don’t want to use chemical, so I grow food in the soil but have been dealing with pest issue.

  • @harmonicliving3507 says:

    Beautiful garden, excellent natural nutrients.

  • @dmood7157 says:

Very nice setup. Thank you for sharing.

  • @MegaGingahNinja says:

I just found your channel, and almost immediately subscribed. I really appreciate the relaxing music and level headed speaking. Gardening is my zen, I don’t need some guy chugging Mountain Dew screaming at me.

    • @plantedinthegarden says:

Lol! This is just my personality. I wouldn’t like watching a guy chugging Mountain Dew screaming at me too. Thank you for kind words, means a lot.. it honestly encourages me to keep on going. Appreciate it!

This is the first time seeing someone making their own hydroponics fertilizer using vermicompost tea instead of synthetic fertilizer. I’d love to see a comparison of the two side by side. Well done!

Great job – clearly explained your entire process. Thanks!
