Easy DIY Hydroponic Grow System Explained in 3 Minutes

This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Keep on Growin’ with Mike VanDuzee”.

This is what inspired the milk jug system I am currently working on. It is a pseudo hydroponic NFT but it worked well. It can be scaled down or up and grows loads of veggies.

With your milk jug system did you paint the jugs so that the solution doesn’t grow algae?

  • Happy Customer says:

    Heĺo!❤

You have inspired me to turn my 20×20 rock patio into a food garden next spring. I am using the downspouts and your 5 gallon verticals. My dirt garden will be doing my sweet potatoes and red potatoes. It’s a 25×25. The patio will be basil and lettuce and Pak Choy in downspouts and I will put in 3 raised beds (on the patio) for tomatoes and peppers and squash and hopefully Kentucky wonder beans on a cattle panel. The 5 gallon will be kale and lemon balm (great for tea) and anything else I can fit into it! Lol…..thank you for all that you do for the community. I know I will figure this out. I already grow microgreens so I am amping up my game. Bugs are on the menu in the future and I plan on eating REAL FOOD. 🙌😁

  • Jesus Christ My Redeemer says:

Oh, I also had to go with the smaller downspouts because I can’t find the lager ones here in Arkansas.

    Thank you Mike.

  • Trish Graham says:

Hi Mike! Great idea! What size pumps are you using? Electrical or Solar? Are your pumps set on a timer or do they run continuously? Thank you.

  • Danger Zone says:

NFT is fun and productive TILL IT’S NOT… Just remember if you’re pump goes down because it broke, or the electricty was shut off of just one day.. You’ll likely lose your entire crop. You all really really need to set up build and practice Kratky Method. Do an NFT system only as an extra side unit.. Seriuosly… we’ve got a lot of crap coming our way.. and “electrical” availability is definitely on the list of concerns
