My chiropractor was the one who told me about the towers 1.5 yrs ago. He told me today they had a very bad case of spider mites on his plants and it went throughout his home. They had to have their home fumigated. 😖 I haven’t seen any aphids yet on my plants but when I cleaned my tower last yr…it’s near impossible to get the mineral buildup off. Great idea for pests!
I just started a hydroponic garden in my apartment. I’ve done well with romaine lettuce and herbs. What seeds are best for mini peppers and cucumber for indoors? Please I want to expand! I have 2 now!
THANK YOU for sharing this! I was wondering what I could do besides neem oil for plants that are inside. Our neighbors have a Tulip Tree which aphids LOVE. One year they were so bad everything had the sticky spots and you couldn’t sit down without those things landing all over you. I used lady bugs, green lacewings and praying mantis last year, they did a beautiful job cleaning those pests away. Obviously we wouldn’t want to do that indoors. 😂 Do you have recommendations for fungus gnats? I have had no luck getting rid of them, and I do not want to throw away years of amended compost.

How do you keep the inside of the tower clean of those long-term pepper towers? Also, we can’t access the TIktok store if we never used tiktok prior to the shutdown. The download is unavailable
Have you ever tried the yellow sticky traps for gnats/aphids? That might help in between cleansing. Sometimes a fan ( air circulation) helps too.

I read that aphids don’t like to be around alum plants (onions or garlic). Put an onion plant in that infested tower you cleaned and see if it keeps them from reappearing.
Cool idea for cleaning the bugs away with it being indoors. I seen for outside that a couple uses a 50/50 milk and water solution to kill aphids. Your Govenor was given a bunch of money so I would be getting after him. So if more money is given to the state and they aren’t helping it’s so sad. I would love a tower for the late Fall and Winter to be able to have the lettuce, spinach, arugula, peppers and tomatoes the most, have you ever grown cucumbers on the tower?
