cool! The cube/ forklift combo looks amazing.
I love this idea! I’m going to build one today
You look fit. Almost like those videos 10 years ago. Nice to see you back in action. Hope next year will be a good one for you, and all of us. The homestead looks amaizing as well.
I’ve been splitting firewood for the duration of my 20 years of homesteading. We are 100% wood heat. I love the tire trick. Can’t wait to adopt it at our new farm location in the US. As I age out, I have assumed that a log splitter was in my future but I resist that transition as I believe splitting wood contributes to good health and a healthy aging process. The tire method will definately extend the time before I need to give in to getting the log splitter.
One tip though, your swinging method would kill my back, or at least contribute to premature fatigue. I try to avoid fatigue as it often results in accidents and injury. Yes, you are right, your swing is better than some, but by lifting straight up as you do, you are still causing strain. I prefer more of a mindmill motion where there is no stop at the top of the swing and that the momentum of the lift contributes to the force applied to the down stroke. If interested, contact me and I’ll get my wife to make a video next time I split wood.
Thanks again for the tire trick, it will keep me healthier for longer.
You’re a born teacher, Curtis!
This also protects your shins from flying wood! Love your idea!
I love the idea if the tire. It protects your axe and it’s safer for your shins and feet. Great tutorial.
Always an inspiration. Thank you!
Wow, a cord in 1 to 1.5 hours may be faster than me using my wood splitter. I’m still sticking with the wood splitter but this is an awesome setup.
Killer system i gotta build a nice tire station
Great ideas!
Fantastic ideas! Thank you, Master Curtis!
Really like the idea of the small mobile boxes that can be moved by the bobcat. Love it! No moving it 5 times!
Wish I had a skidster
Yes. I agree.
I’ve been heating with wood for decades and still learned from you! Thanks, Curtis!
So Cool Thank you. Never thought to use tires..❤
Another species of conifer that is deciduous is swamp Cyprus, Taxodium distichum. Native to USA. You can also coppice it which is rare for soft woods.
Also the dawn redwood – metasequoia glyptostrobodes deciduous redwood
Cool ideas. Thanks for the small nuggets mate.
I really like the portable wood cubbies
Excellent and safer too with the tyre ❤
