I’ve started adding worm castings along with live worms into each raised bed. I do lose a lot into the ground below but I have noticed that if I keep my beds watered, the worms stay mid level and I have easy tillable soil. It’s a dark brown color and looks rich all the time.
I’ve also noticed that straw and small sticks have helped to enrich the soil.
