Hi Bibi! Just wondering if you had any leakage from using the pvc teflon tape? I know pvc cement would be the most reliable way but it will also permanently fuse the pipes together, and I wish to be able to disassemble the kit in the future.

So far no leakages , insert the the pipes and the tees with the tape well shouldn’t be a problem .

If you use Food grade glue from Amazon you just use a hair dryer against end pipe for very few seconds, tap gently with hammer and end caps come right off and system will easily come apart. Just type in Food grade glue. Hope that helps.

Hello, what is the difference between this technique ( NFT) and your other videos about hydroponic?

NFT system cannot turn off the water pump or use timer , the other can turn off the water pump and place timer , Because I used Bush reducer..

For NFT system cannot off the water pump more than 10 min otherwise the plants will die .

yes , make sure to filter the water and use PVC pipe instead the 4 mm tube.

When using Rockwool, does the cube need to be in contact with the waterstream or just the root?
if your roots tall enough to touch the water it’s fine just the roots , when the roots small need to touch .
You mentioned to change the water every 2 weeks.
Do you dump out what’s in there or are you retesting and adjusting the nutrients when you top it off?
i use the old water in my traditional garden , plants..etc and change to new water mix with the hydroponic fertilizer

@Reviews & Trials Yes you can use miracle grow, but match the type for your plants. For Mostly greens (lettuce, beans etc) use Blue General Purpose. For fruiting plants (Tomatoes, Eggplant, Pepper) use RED Tomato formula. Read up on the NKP (Nitrogen/Potassium/Phosphorus) numbers for different plants in differing parts of the grow cycle. Nitrogen is the primary for all green leaves and stems, P and K for the fruits. Lettuces do better with balanced NPK, Fruits better with a higher PK level, especially when coming to yield (picking time). EC is electrical conductivity – Nutrients are measured as “salts” in the water. EC is how a electric charge travels. Higher EC – More salts (Nutrients) in the water. I use TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) as my guide. Same general principle, different numbers. For Greens, 1500-2000 TDS is sufficient food level. For Fruits 2000-3000. pH generally slightly over neutral 7.2 or so (You can find this online for each plant type). I use a 55gal drum to run 180lf pipe, and, in general, use a cup and a half of granules mixed in a gallon of water added to the drum every 2-3 weeks. Once you get more experience you can get custom tailored liquid nutrients for beginning, middle, and fruit phase.
@Dennys854 thanks! I have a small bit of miracle grow left then I’ll switch over to masters mix. I have ordered everything for a 10 beto bucket system and have the tiny 2″ pipe for lettuce / starts up and running! I can’t wait to watch it all grow! Thanks for your response and input!
If I used rock wool how would I insure the seeds / seedlings touch the water?
rockwool absorb water and become wet, just make sure the base is touching the water

I’m in South East Asia the UPVC not expensive maybe total system with the fittings cost me around 70 USD .
