Actually will advice no need to glue it, rarely it will leak, and you still can open up the cover and clean the system after long period of using. Easier maintenance for long term usage, imagine the long rooting system clogging the inlet/outlet.

    Thanks for the great video.
I have several koi ponds. I have been using the filters to pump water to water and feed my veggies and fruit plants.. Worked great.. This year I did a small aquaponic garden for strawberries. They did amazing.
I wanna try this hydroponic for even more fruit and veggies. Something great about producing your own.
If you are interested in any of my pond videos please have a look.
    All the best.
    You have a great channel

Here in the UK 4 inch full round plastic pipe/ gutter is not easy to acquire let alone the rest needed and one piece of full round 100mm is about 15 $

    • DIY & GARDEN WITH BIBI says:

Hi there. I’m not in the UK my place
I buy 19 ft of 4″ UPVC pipe for 13 USD

    • NovaColonel says:

I’d not use plastics for growing something I will later eat. 15 $ shouldn’t be too much in the UK, a prosperous nation and EU member state…. oh, wait. I’m sorry. You poor chaps.

  • Chocoholiclady66 says:

Inventive, yes. However, seems like just a different (more difficult/work to set up and space hogging with less planting capacity) way of using what basically amounts to a water reservoir (pipes) and wicking system (with cotton or something other than actual planter water wicks) so just not watering as often. But not an actual hydroponic system per se that takes care of itself most of the time using a pump and nutrient enriched water in place of dirt. At least it is not what I think of when anyone says hydroponics. I’ll stick to my tray containers suspended over a large container of water and actual planter wicks … takes up far less space yet also holds far more in quantity of seeds and plants.

I absolutely LOVE how you go through this fast. I feel some videos think their viewers are idiots. Thank you for not wasting my time. AWESOME JOB!!

  • Jason Gibson says:

Gluing the end caps on first seems backwards. You should drill all your holes and place the adapters on the caps first. Looks like you’re doing it the hard way.

  • Robert Davis says:

I have a couple questions. I’m building this for a school project and I’m completely new to this. Where would I put the water the tank and the pump?

  • Aparna Sinha says:

Do i need to keep changing the water after a regular interval?

  • Fabio De Nido says:

Ciao, complimenti per i tuoi video, potresti darmi le misure e il diametro dei singoli pezzi in cm ?

  • Jean-Michael Colas says:

This build is great but you are missing the most important part, which is adding a water pump to introduce flow and oxygen, to reduce mold and infection and almost feeding of liquid fertiliser etc.
