I don’t often share my WHY directly but the answer is clean food security. Somehow we not only handed over all control of food to corporations and government subsidies but we also stopped caring what they actually put in and on our food…..Here I share how to think outside the traditional gardening box so we can start to take back control of the food we have access too and reduce the toxins we bring into our bodies.
MUSHROOMS on logs for food resilience. 4 RECIPES from Vertical Tower Garden to Table.
We got 9″ of snow yesterday so I decided to stay home, bake bread and knit. I’ve tried doing the mushroom plugs in logs without a lot of success. I am going to try growing the mushrooms in buckets and see how that works. We have blackberries, raspberries and aronia berries. I’ve tried growing blueberries but our ph is too high, but we also have a pear tree and a peach tree so there’s always lots of fruit. The food on my tower is growing like crazy, thanks for all your tips on seed starting I’m sure I would have put my seedlings in too soon without your advice.
You have a great food set up! I started aronia berries too. I’m recording a mushroom in buckets video this month. Logs take a long time. These are on year 2.5 and just started to fruit. I’m doing much skinner logs moving forward.
