is their a difference in dwc and reservior or is that the same thing jw btw?

  • frank35419 says:

How often do you add nutrients to the DWC system?

  • strawboy1764 says:

my guess with the Tomatos isn’t fungi Tomatos need lots of nutrients I run my ppms at 2200 and ph at 6.1. so I have them seperate from every thing else

  • iiinsaiii says:

Since your plants are in the basement like you said, your Water for your plants are probably too could. The water temp should be at around 68-71. Check the temps and if there too could add a heater to the water.

  • nick chestnut says:

can u use other liquids like vinegar to clean ?

  • Rotorzilla says:

what nutrient are you running at 2200 ppm?

  • Wilhelm Inc. says:

when you take your plant out of your dwc for cleaning where do you put that plant while you are cleaning the bucket ?

  • SHADYKELEVRA says:

this is true and different plants like different ph levels too which ph is important as ph also controls what nutrients are being taking in by the plant

  • Drask Locs says:

how long can roots be out of water when your changing water

  • Drask Locs says:

how long can your roots be out of water while your canging water

  • Jonny Cruz says:

Use H2O2 in your grow water to alleviate fungus and safely sanitize your roots…

  • mtsurov says:

how often one should change the nutrient solution? Do we ever recycle old solution?

  • mortisha allagebordo says:

h2o2 to clean your lines and buckets is a better to use instead of bleach…and the amount of nutrients your plants will require matters on how many luminous your canape is receiving remember photosynthesis dictates food consumption…the hydro nutrient charts are based on 1000 watt lighting systems then you need air circulation and whats your carbon-dioxide levels that matters allot too and run some air stones so its more than water and nutrients…

  • Ken Rasmussen says:

You might also consider using MasterBlend or Chem-Gro water soluble fertilizer. It is specifically deisgned for hydroponics and does an awesome job. I have lettuce growing using the Kratky method and will be ready for harvest in about 30 days. The fertilizers are available from numerous sources, Morgan County Seed or Hydro-gardens, I have dealt with. They will also need to be mixed with Ca Nitrate and epsom salt to make a complete fertilizer. I do not think there is a better fertilizer available for hydroponics

  • Dustin Brown says:

If you put compost tea in the dwc reservoirs would it work well since there is a continual aeration from the pumps?

  • CRIMBOMAN666 says:

I use DWC and u def need more air, a bigger pump will go a long way. Also with DWC u need to use H2O2 ( hydrogen peroxide ) in your water, it keeps your water in better condition and your root nice and white.

  • R L says:

    Hi HowToHydroponics,
I was just curious as to where you put your plants when you clean the reservoirs. Do you put them into another bucket or how do you protect the roots from light damage and drying out. Thanks again!

  • Shoot Hoops Not Guns of Philadelphia says:

Where did you put the plant while you cleaned the buckets ?

  • Nick Westendorf says:

You DEFINITELY would do well to add airstones to the systems, they are not doing well because they need more O2.

  • Brian Babinski says:

I’m getting to the point of changing my reservoir water out. my hoses for my airpump are clear and I noticed a little growth on them. I read that black hoses prevent growth build up. Is that accurate? what do you suggest? switch to black air hoses? Use an ozone machine to kill bacteria? Any suggestions will help me.
