6 DISADVANTAGES of Vertical Farms
This Video is from the Youtube channel: “Foodverge”.
6 DISADVANTAGES Of Vertical Farming. We look at why vertical farming is bad. Whether it is a Hydroponics, Aquaponics or aeroponics vertical farm system they all share these disadvantages. Vertical Farming is one of the most interesting trends in the world of Food Innovation at the moment. It may play a huge part in the future of agriculture.

great video. please make more
Thanks Jacob! We will 👍💪 Anything in particular you’d like to see?
Garbage. Bunch of generalizations to bait you to watch. All of the video is stock footage stitched together.
@Ali Daniali All the areas discussed are disadvantages of vertical farms. We’ll take your feedback on the footage onboard. Thank you
@Foodverge there’s nothing you’re comparing your 6 items to. Let’s look at the first disadvantage pointed out, Cost? How much does it cost to run a soli-based farm? What about the cost to the environment? Cost of emissions? Everything needs context and that’s missing from your video. I recommend remaking it and removing this one.
@Ali Daniali I see. I’ve included market data but I get your point. It seems like a direct comparison video of vertical farming vs traditional farming would be of interest to you. If it is, please let me know and I will make it especially for you. I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you
I think it’s rather good. It’s a well put together video and well researched.
@Foodverge When you have a comparison then it can truly be evaluated as a disadvantage or advantage. For example, 320 sq ft of vertical farming is equal to about 3 aces of the soil-based farm. The cost of land management, fuel, equipment, fertilizer, and watering (to name a few costs) is 250x MORE than running a vertical farm. This isn’t even pointing out all the environmental costs that current big-farm soil-based farms are placing on the land/water/air. Writing a yellow-journalistic title to get clicks to your non-researched video is hurting the importance of people considering vertical farms as a source of food. Put correct information out there or don’t do it at all.
Awesome video! I love your video series on vertical farming. Can you do one on aeroponic innovation?
Thank you. Yes I can definitely create one for you on aeroponics 💪💪
We are hoping for the best.. 🌞😏
great coverage and well researched! also loved how you named some examples of farms throughout your video! Maybe you can come out with numbers if ever you do a follow up video
What numbers in particular would you like to see?
Could you introduce reference documents in your video descriptions? That would add credibility to your statements in the videos.
Also is it possible to see financial reports for VF and GH facilities?
Great idea. I could make a video looking at financial reports of VF projects if that interested you
@Foodverge I realize that people probably throw a lot of ideas, but I think that kind of content would boost credibility.
We may not have a choice but to go with vertical farming in the future due to droughts. Vertical farming uses much less water. Plants don’t have to be grown inside a facility which would allow for pollinators to reach plants, but I can see why it would be better, although you don’t deal with as many pests growing vertically and doesn’t require high skills either, I find it easier than growing in soil. If so many plants can be grown vertically and save water, why not, but what I’m actually curious about are the nutrients on these plants compared to those grown in soil.
Ya fascinating will have to research. The water has a rich nutrient solution added a lot of the time so I imagine nutrient uptake is high. Do you think we will see vertical farms in every country?
I bet you that in a jungle, on some remote island, some boy who has been raised by various forest creatures, has designed far more effective systems than the ones mentioned here, using completely free energy and nothing but discarded trash he collected from the ocean. One country spends a billion on a rollerball pen that can write in space, the other uses a pencil.
